With Sigma, everyone can quickly answer their own questions to make and visualize accurate, data-driven decisions.
We are looking for Graduate students who are passionate about cutting edge cloud computing projects. As a Product Design Graduate Intern, you will be developing and honing your skills with a full product experience team of product and visual designers, user researchers and content writers. Our team is ideally looking for students that have strong visual design skills.
Come join us in redefining the way users access big data and get insights.
What You Will Be Doing:
- You will work on the visual identity of Sigma and the connection between our brand, product, and design system. This includes typography, illustration, motion, and iconography.
- You'll own a project from concept to delivery during your internship and will collaborate real-time with our Engineers and your fellow Product Designers
- You’ll collaborate with our product management, user research, customer success, and support teams to actively seek user product feedback that advance our solutions and improve product adoption and utilization
- You’ll delight business users with simple, elegant designs as they explore data and generate insights
- You’ll get mentored by experienced and passionate product designers and gain industry exposure to how experience teams work
Qualifications We Need:
- Actively pursuing a Graduate level degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design or similar field graduating in December 2025 or June 2026
- Located within the U.S. and able to work full-time in our San Francisco HQ (40 hours per week) between June 2025 - August / September 2025
- Authorization:
- You must be legally authorized to work in the US during the Summer 2025 program
- Visa sponsorship is not available for our internship positions, but we welcome applicants on a student visa (with authorization to work in the U.S.) to apply
- Demonstrable rational design thinking and understanding of research methodologies
- Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills; demonstrating the ability to clearly explain design decisions to anyone in the company
Portfolio Requirements:
- Your portfolio must demonstrate breadth, and depth in visual design, UX, interaction design and research methodologies.
- Your portfolio must describe your design process and show examples of the progressive evolution of your designs. We’re interested in use cases that inform us of the business problem you were trying to solve, the constraints and assumptions you needed to work within, where the design started and your significant iterations leading to the final design
- Your portfolio should inform us of how your designs furthered project objectives while at the same time meeting user needs
If you do not feel that you satisfy all the listed requirements, we encourage you to still apply. We are enthusiastically looking for people that will help us grow our company and sometimes we are imperfect communicators and can’t articulate perfectly what experience is required for a role. We are looking for people that are excited to grow and constantly ask how we can do things better. If you are excited about the opportunity, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t satisfy 100% of the job requirements.
What’s next:
To get started, submit your application through our job posting. We review the resumes quickly that we receive but sometimes there are a lot of applications so please be sure that the relevant information on your resume stands out.
We expect the entire process to take no more than 4-6 weeks depending on your availability and it will include the following steps:
- Video Interview with our Recruiting team
- Portfolio Review with our Design team
- One week take-home exercise
- 60 minute Zoom presentation to a design team member (a brief will be provided to you so you know what to prepare)
