Technical Instructor

The Instructor plays a key role in helping our customers and partners build knowledge, increase user adoption and promote best practices through the delivery of engaging, high-impact learning experiences. You are a passionate instructor and communicator, skilled in the delivery of virtual and hybrid instructor-led sessions, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. As a member of a small and growing team, you'll help define scalable delivery processes, experiment with new training formats, and contribute to Sigma's broader enablement strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the product platform and the unique knowledge requirements of a variety of technical personas such as data analysts, analytics engineers, data architects, and administrators.
  • Deliver engaging public instructor-led training sessions for customers, partners, and employees.
  • Design and maintain hands-on learning content, including case studies and affiliated datasets, using adult learning principles, clear learning objectives, and logical progression.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in curriculum development: contribute feedback, suggest new topics, and align content with platform capabilities.
  • Stay up to date on new product features and functions, and incorporate platform changes, common support issues, and user feedback into training content.
  • Track and report training impact metrics (e.g., learner satisfaction, engagement, follow-up adoption, support reduction).
  • Partner with Product, Support, and Documentation teams to integrate best practices, address friction points, and evolve curriculum offerings.
  • Partner with customer and partner teams on education materials, regional event scheduling, and evangelizing the availability of new offerings.
  • Support education operations and special projects, including registration tools, training surveys, and event coordination.

Qualifications:

Candidates for the Instructor role should have many of the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years in the technology industry, with 3+ years in a training role focused on content creation and delivery (live and digital).
  • Strong presentation, training and group facilitation skills; familiar and competent with audience engagement methods and techniques appropriate for all types of learners.

Deep knowledge of cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift) and BI tools (Sigma, Tableau, Looker, etc.).Exceptional verbal communication and instructional delivery skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Strong written skills for curriculum development, documentation, and learner engagement.

  • Portfolio of sample content or recordings demonstrating training delivery and/or instructional design approach.

Skilled in building curriculum grounded in adult learning theory, with structured learning paths and hands-on exercises.Experience using training analytics, surveys, and learner feedback to improve content.Willingness to travel occasionally for in-person trainings or team events (~<10%).

Additional Job details

The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work at Sigma Computing. This role is eligible for a variable pay (based on goal achievement), stock options, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
