What You'll Do
At Sol de Janeiro, our people are the heart of everything we do. As the Specialist, People Operations, you’ll create a smooth and joyful employee experience by supporting core people functions such as employee engagement, onboarding, offboarding, HRIS data management, etc. This role partners with People Experience leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, accurate, and employee-focused people services.
This role reports to the Director, Global HRBP and requires three days in our NYC HQ.
What You’ll Be Working On
HR Systems & Data Management
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Generate regular reports and analytics to support business decisions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in collaboration with HRIS/IT teams.
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, including documentation, orientation scheduling, and systems access.
- Manage offboarding processes such as exit paperwork, systems termination, and compliance requirements.
Payroll & Benefits Support
- Partner with PEO to ensure accurate data entry, changes, and timely processing of payroll.
- Support audits and resolve discrepancies between People Experience, payroll, and benefits systems.
Policy & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to employment laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with compliance audits, reporting, and documentation retention.
Employee Experience
- Serve as a first point of contact for people experience-related inquiries, escalating complex cases as needed.
- Provide guidance on people experience policies, procedures, and processes.
- Partner with People Experience team, Employee Resource Groups and other committees to support employee celebrations, cultural events, wellness initiatives, etc. to foster an engaged and energized environment.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance people experience processes for efficiency and employee experience.
- Contribute to people experience projects such as system upgrades, policy rollouts, and organizational change initiatives.
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 2–4 years of People Operations, HR generalist, or other related HR experience
- Strong knowledge of HR systems (HRIS/ATS), payroll processes, and compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees at all levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS platforms (TriNet, HiBob, Greenhouse, or similar)

Salary Range
$70,000 - $80,000 USD
