Senior Strategic Planning Manager

The Strategic Planning Senior Manager will report to the Director of Strategic Planning within the Global Marketing and Sales (GMSBO) division at PlayStation. This role is critical to the success of the organization as it will focus on driving and developing impactful deliverables, building scalable process, and fostering cross-functional collaboration to enhance PlayStation’s strategic clarity and operational excellence. From providing instrumental support to PlayStation’s annual and mid-range planning processes to creating high-impact executive presentations for budget reviews and business updates for SIE leadership, the ideal candidate is one who excels both at structuring and communicating complicated ideas in compelling ways.
This is a global role with broad scope, supporting multiple product lines, including PS5 hardware, PS Plus, 1st party and 3rd party software, and the PlayStation Store. The successful candidate is a highly driven professional who has demonstrated experience partnering across organizations and thrives in a complex global matrix structure.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Marketing Operations
- Support the creation, execution, and refinement of GMSBO strategic planning cycles, including mid-range planning (MRP), annual planning, strategic planning, operating plans, budget plans, and quarterly & monthly business reviews.
- Develop clear frameworks, guidelines, and templates to standardize planning and reporting across sales and marketing globally, providing tools for effective communication and strategy articulation.
- Facilitate working groups to design and implement RAPID® Decision Marketing Framework for marketing processes, ensuring clarity in roles and decision-making across global teams.
- Assist in establishing efficient processes and workflows for marketing decision-making and execution.
- Support processes that connect deliverables and initiatives to measurable outcomes, providing leadership with clear insights into progress and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide light Excel support for analysis and modeling as needed, though this is not a primary responsibility.
- Lead and manage strategic projects and initiatives as needed.
Executive Stakeholder Communication & Alignment
- Serve as a key liaison across product lines (PS5 Hardware, PS Plus, software, PlayStation Store) to ensure strategic alignment in planning and updates.
- Develop and deliver compelling, concise, and visually engaging presentations for Sony executives, leveraging PowerPoint as the primary tool.
- Support GMSBO Portfolio Prioritization process and liaise across product lines on an annual and quarterly basis.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather, synthesize, and structure data and narratives that align with PlayStation’s business objectives.
- Exhibit strong listening and collaboration skills, creating an environment of partnership and shared accountability.
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all deliverables, especially those presented to senior leadership.
- Work with the Director of Strategic Planning to identify opportunities for professional development and team growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in strategic planning, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience in strategic consulting , commercial or business operations is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically while managing details and meeting deadlines.
- Proven experience in marketing, with a deep understanding of marketing processes and frameworks.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to deliver clear and impactful executive presentations.
- Expertise in MS PowerPoint is required; familiarity with MS Excel is helpful but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to coordinate diverse groups and foster collaboration.
- A growth mindset, flexible approach, and team-oriented attitude.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$177,900 - $266,900 USD
