Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role will be an integral part of bringing Strava’s vision through driving strategic company-wide efforts and supporting our growth. As our first dedicated Payroll Analyst hire, you will collaborate cross functionally to help with reviewing and processing confidential employee data, and ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate payroll.
We follow a flexible hybrid model that generally translates to around half your time on-site in our San Francisco, CA office —roughly three days per week.

What You’ll Do
- Process and review end to end payroll for salaried and hourly semi-monthly pay runs
- Audit timesheets, compensation changes and payroll inputs for accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with People Ops, Accounting, and other third party vendors to resolve payroll issues
- Analyze payroll reports for accuracy, trends, and discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with tax reporting, labor regulations and company policies
- Facilitate and support audits through the delivery of records and documentation to external auditors, if require
- Assist with implementation of new payroll system or process improvements
- Be part of a public readiness journey from late-stage private to public including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
- Support year-end activities
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing/functions
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, related field, or combination of professional experience
- Familiarity with payroll accounting and reconciliations
- Prior experience with Workday
- CPP or FPC is a plus
- Excellent Excel skills and a strong understanding of payroll regulations, FLSA, and tax withholding rules
- Demonstrated strength with analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to maintain excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Compensation Overview:
At Strava, we know our employees are the most important ingredient to our success, and our compensation and total rewards programs reflect that. We take a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on the department and your location. Salary ranges are categorized into one of three tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. We will determine the candidate’s starting pay based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. We may modify these ranges in the future. Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000. This range reflects base compensation only and does not include equity or benefits. Your recruiter can share more details about the full compensation package, including the range specific to your location, during the hiring process.
