Accounting Specialist
About the job
As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for performing various financial and accounting tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and have a passion for growth and development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Prepare and process daily financial transactions, including vendor payables
+ Record daily bank activity and prepare daily deposit
+ Process carrier commission payments
+ Perform account reconciliations to ensure accurate and complete financial records
+ Compile and audit financial data
+ Prepare invoices for clients and follow-up on outstanding receivables
+ Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and perform other duties as assigned
TECHNICAL FUNCTIONS
+ Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
+ Exhibits strong organizational, multitasking and prioritization skills; ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic fast paced environment.
+ Strong attention to detail; resourceful; proactive; curious
+ Strong financial, analytical, interpersonal skills, but more importantly, will need to be flexible and adaptable to evolving organizational demands.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial software systems
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
+ Strong attention to detail and highly organized
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
+ At least 3 years of experience in an accounting environment
+ Knowledge of insurance industry and insurance accounting is a plus
REQUIRED EDUCATION
+ Bachelor's degree
