Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Program Manager that will be responsible for the day-to-day management of complex Professional Services projects and the support of qualified sale opportunities. Additionally, the Program Manager will have a background in value-selling to identify business needs coupled with the ability to develop customized solutions to solve client business problems.  This person will be heavily involved in the daily meetings & activities of the project management team, which includes attending scrum calls, collaborating with Client Program Managers as it pertains to Client resources and TGCS resources, and managing project budget with client expectations exercising project change control, where necessary, to maintain proper P&L goals while delicately maintaining successful client relationships. 

The Program Manager is responsible for providing technical project planning, management and oversight for key initiatives and implementation projects, ensuring first that these initiatives and projects are closely aligned with TGCS’s strategic priorities, and second, that these initiatives and projects are completed on time, within scope and budget and with an extremely high quality of deliverables.

The Program Manager for the Services Team will plan, schedule, monitor, evaluate and direct projects, ensuring they meet established time, cost and technical objectives. The Program Manager develops and manages the project’s change control procedures and effectively utilizes all available methodologies and tools, culminating in client acceptance of results.  Given the customer-facing nature of this role, up to 50% travel is expected.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE & SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or equivalent combination
  • 10+ years of Software Development Program and/or Project Management experience, with 6 years’ experience in retail industry, particularly store operations.
  • Experience in creating customer proposals and strong customer presentation skills
  • Ability to work within a project team environment where results will be based on cooperation with and/or influence of others
  • Proficient in MS Office Tools including MS Project and MS Excel
  • Results driven with a focus on project success, revenue and costs - P&L responsibilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with all levels of management and employees.
  • Strong sense of urgency and driving issues to closure, with a focus on successful results.
  • Meets deadlines and produces high quality work

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for overall program execution and solution delivery across complex projects requiring navigation of various levels of matrixed TGCS and Client organizations with 3rd party vendor participation. Advises and reviews project plans, resource plans, and test plans across multiple projects or very large projects. Demonstrates significant domain and discipline knowledge in translating customer requirements into plans. Project tracking and reporting, including defining detailed project plan with delivery phases for Toshiba solution enhancements and future phases.

Lead frequent program updates to Clients and TGCS executives. Issue Escalation and Management within client and Toshiba. Carries overall responsibility for Toshiba client delivery across all Toshiba deliverables. Issue Escalation and Management within client and Toshiba. Risk Identification and Mitigation strategies. Focus in reducing delays from both organizations and removing bottlenecks. Obtain and sustain the commitment of key client personnel necessary for project execution. Follow-up and review significant project milestones and client’s acceptance.

Manage baselined budget, scope, and time and incorporate the appropriate change controls policies and processes into program management practices. Review whether the baselined budget, scope, and time are under control and the change controls are incorporated as per process.

Provide leadership and direction to TGCS Architects, Business Analysts and Project Managers. Day-to-day leadership of Toshiba on-site delivery personnel. Represent delivery teams in joint reviews, management, committee reviews, and Steering Committee meetings. Mentors junior Project Managers and grows leadership skills across the practice.

Facilitates requirements-gathering workshops with external audiences.

Provides ownership of and content for RFPs & RFIs.

Identifies opportunities to leverage existing assets (domain functionality, tooling, documentation) in new projects.

Contributes to or leads portfolio and cross-organizational strategic initiatives and/or projects.

Establishes, documents, and evolves organization-wide delivery best practices including common tooling, workflows, automation, and environments.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Reviewing and managing complex projects with dependencies outside of his/her control; competing resources. This leadership position focuses on ensuring that custom solution programs are delivered on time, within scope, budget and with quality. The Program Manager is accountable for leading successful delivery (development, deployment and adoption) of programs that are critical for TGCS. Being effective in this role requires a natural ability to lead, build strong trusting partnerships across the organization and drive progress. This requires a highly resourceful individual who thrives in a fast-moving, complex environment requiring strong emotional intelligence and self-motivation. Ability to influence & energize diverse set of stakeholders towards a common goal.
