
Trade Compliance Analyst
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst to support our Worldwide Operations Organization—including Logistics Procurement, Operations, Planning, and Global Trade Compliance. This role ensures that processes and systems align with internal policies, country-specific import/export and trade regulations, and Toshiba’s global operating principles. The analyst will develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and drive operational efficiency across international transactions.
Areas of Expertise & Special Skills

Logistics & Compliance Experience: 8+ years in end-to-end logistics, with strong experience in trade compliance, restricted party screening, Harmonized Code (HTS) classification, customs/tax processes, and import/export clearance issue resolution.

Classification Proficiency: Skilled in determining HTS and ECCN classifications, with thorough documentation and research to support classification decisions.

Training & Guidance: Experience developing trade compliance training and providing expert advice on trade matters.

Regulatory Research: Ability to verify tariffs, duties, and taxes using the HTS and trade databases. Skilled in tracking and implementing tariff schedule updates.

Trade Impact Monitoring: Proficient in analyzing international trade agreements and providing compliance impact assessments to leadership.

Technology Expertise: Working knowledge of Oracle Global Trade Management (GTM), Descartes, and similar platforms.

Compliance Controls: Understanding of restricted party lists, sanctioned countries, and related trade compliance practices.

Software Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, graphs/charts).

Project Management: Solid organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills, with experience applying project management techniques.

Business Systems Acumen: Familiarity with Oracle’s environment and the operational impact of systems changes.

Collaboration & Communication: Able to build partnerships across global functions and work with departments like Finance, Procurement, and Executive Leadership.

Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement and support project implementations.

Documentation: High attention to detail in maintaining records and compliance documentation.
Preferred Qualifications

Licensed Customs Broker

Oracle GTM and Descartes HTS/ECCN classification software experience

SME in Oracle GTM, TM, OM modules and/or Oracle certifications (SCM, OM, TM, GTM)

Hazmat certifications (IATA, DOT)

Microsoft SharePoint application development experience
Major Responsibilities
-
Provide HTS & ECCN support for internal stakeholders, brokers, and forwarders; maintain Oracle GTM with tariff schedule updates.

Develop and deliver trade compliance training; serve as a subject matter resource.

Administer GTM updates for logistics modeling, transit times, and country-specific shipping requirements; partner with global teams and logistics integrators.

Conduct daily Restricted Party List Screenings and clear compliance holds.

Perform freight cost modeling, support business cases, and assess regulatory impact.

Track and analyze international trade agreement/tariff schedule changes; advise leadership accordingly.

Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Financial Impact
Ensure all shipments—including POS, SCO, OEM, Service Parts, and others—comply with internal and external trade regulations. This includes Toshiba TEC and Toshiba Group standards as well as global, regional, national, and local trade policies.
