
Sr. Manager of Accounting
The Sr. Manager, Accounting & Compliance will manage the month-end financial closing and Oracle consolidation process, including eliminations, foreign exchange revaluation, translation procedure and reporting of financial information to corporate parent in Tokyo. Ensures compliance with deadlines. Oversees chart of account maintenance. Coordinates preparation and submission of supplemental schedules. Proactively identifies and works to resolve reporting issues including intercompany tie out problems. Directly manages a small team of accountants. This role is hands-on and the position will work closely with the Americas Controller, the extended accounting and finance teams at the HQ and in each region, external auditors and various Tokyo-based staff.
The person in this role ensures the statutory accounting and compliance activities of TGCS US are accurate and complete and accounting rules are followed. The person in this role ensures TGCS reports to shareholders are on time and drives external financial reporting and accountability. Accurate and timely filings ensure TGCS is compliant with regulators and shareholders, reducing risk of penalties. In addition, information provided drives business decisions and investments.
The person in this role must lead technical accounting teams while also delivering up-levelled messaging to executive management at TGCS and TTEC. The person in this role must also manage diverse compliance activities according to US GAAP and internal / external reporting regulations that may change over time. The complexity of this role is high due to the level of responsibilities and specific deadlines the person in this role needs to meet each month
AREAS OF EXPERTISE & SPECIAL SKILLS:
•Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with 12+ experience.
•2+ years of public accounting and 10+ corporate accounting experience.
•CPA/ Chartered accountant or equivalent certification.
•Knowledge of transfer pricing preferred.
•Experience managing local GAAP compliance activities in a US GAAP accounting environment.
•Skilled at preparing balance sheet reconciliations and taking appropriate follow-up actions.
•Experience with forecasting and fluctuation analysis; able to independently recognize and investigate variances. •Willing to work as a partner to the business and outside the finance organization to proactively identify solutions to complex accounting, compliance, or financial issues.
•Ability to manage verbal and written discussions in English.
•Proficient in MS Excel.
•Oracle experience strongly preferred.
•Must be a collaborator and team player, but able to work independently to achieve deadlines.
•A daily sense of urgency and strong communication skills are critical; willingness to conduct business during non-standard hours to meet the needs of a global business.
•Technology company experience preferred.
•Master’s Degree a plus.
