Purpose of the Position:

The Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Manager oversees the institution’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) processes to ensure compliance with federal and institutional regulations and guidelines, maintain accountability, and support student success. This role integrates policy enforcement, appeals and academic plan management, audit reviews, and cross-department collaboration to uphold institutional integrity while optimizing student academic progression.

What you’ll do:  

  1. Manage SAP enrollment and rotation updates: Ensure timely and accurate updates to SAP enrollment statuses based on rotation calendars, maintaining compliance with institutional policies.
  2. Collaborate with Registrar leadership: Partner with Registrar teams to develop and maintain accurate, efficient, and compliant SAP reporting processes.
  3. Coordinate with IT for improvements: Work with IT to implement enhancements and resolve issues related to SAP processing systems.
  4. Oversee SAP appeals and academic plans: Identify students needing SAP appeals or academic plans, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and properly signed.
  5. Monitor student progress: Track student adherence to SAP plans and coordinate status updates with relevant departments.
  6. Maintain compliance and report to leadership: Keep leadership informed of student progress and SAP process accountability through organized, compliant recordkeeping.
  7. Build cross-functional relationships: Foster strong collaboration with internal departments involved in SAP processing, appeals, and academic planning.
  8. Respond to internal audits: Review internal audit findings related to SAP and implement corrective actions to ensure policy adherence.
  9. Lead with Care: Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering a culture of wellness, recognition, and engagement. Meet regularly with direct reports in one-on-one and group settings to provide feedback and cultivate/maintain a positive work culture.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Associates degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Minimum 1 year experience and knowledge of SAP requirements and processes
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a high-pressure environment with strict timeline adherence.
  • Leads and manages with a compliance and results focused mentality.
  • Ability to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
  • Ability to contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Computer literacy/basic computer skills to effectively navigate and utilize the technology required for the role.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years of experience in a supervisory role
  • 3 years + experience and knowledge of SAP requirements and processes
  • Experience with Anthology Student
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.

Compliance: 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and carefully follow all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.

Work Environment/Physical Demands: 

  • This is a full-time remote position. 
  • Home office set up, quiet place to work, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection. 
  • May require setup of computer equipment; accommodation consideration available upon request. 
  • Requires long periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed. 

Anticipated starting salary is based on experience and qualifications.

Compensation Range

$75,400 - $80,000 USD
