Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, has an opening for a Circle Knife Operator for our 2nd shift operations working full-time Monday-Thursdays and may require working on Friday based on workloads.

Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. Advanced manufacturing technologies are utilized at our climate controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility.

Starting pay is $27.99/hour + 5% Shift Differential

A day in the life of a Circle Knife Operator includes making repetitive cuts to acquire accurate dimensions on a variety of circular knives, operating multiple machines simultaneously. Uses circle knife lathes, serrators, and straighteners to accomplish jobs. Uses all necessary types of precision measuring and gaging equipment.

Qualified applicants must have a minimum of one-year work experience in a related environment with a high school diploma or equivalent. This position requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations, ability to solve math problems, and ability to read and interpret engineering prints and blueprints. Physical demands include frequent durations of both sitting and standing, repetitive wrist movements, forearm rotation, gripping, grasping, and squeezing.
