Mission - Applications Product Marketing

The candidate will join the Applications Product Marketing team, part of a highly creative, energetic and results-oriented organization that leads the marketing strategy for our business. We own and direct the strategy, planning, and execution to attain revenue, profit, and segment market share goals. 

We will leverage deep industry knowledge, deep analysis of market and customer data, and superior product knowledge to develop actionable marketing strategies and product GTM roadmaps. We are creative and collaborative, striving to convert Vonage’s products and services into solutions that meet the needs of our current and future customers.

Why this role matters

The Sr. Product Marketing Manager will develop and execute the go-to-market (GTM) plans for Vonage Cloud Based Applications (e.g. Vonage Contact Center and Vonage Business Communications). The ideal candidate has hands-on experience owning end-to-end marketing plans and campaigns, understands the CCaaS and UCaaS markets, its segments and routes to market, is passionate about the business communications space, and is adept at producing engaging customer-facing marketing collateral. The candidate also has a deep understanding of artificial intelligence in the context of CCaaS and UCaaS (CX & EX).

This position plays an instrumental role in defining the long-term direction of Vonage’s growth in the business communication space. The ideal candidate will work alongside the rest of the product, sales and marketing teams to create compelling value propositions, messaging and content in all areas of focus.

This role reports into the Sr. Director of Product Marketing. This hybrid role is ideally based in Holmdel, NJ, US or London, England, UK. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify market offers and opportunities through research and analysis including  market TAMs, CAGRs, trends, share, share of wallet and segmentation including geographic, industry/vertical, etc. (and future projections/influencers for the same).
  • Build business cases and go-to-market strategies and scenarios in partnership with the greater product and engineering, product marketing, campaign, and channel (field, alliances, indirect) marketing teams.
  • Analyze key industry and technology trends that impact or have the potential to impact Vonage’s business or customers by conducting primary and secondary research. The contact center as a service (CCaaS) space is the primary responsibility, but the UCaaS space is also desired.
  • Research public and non-public information sources to build analytical competitive, intelligence, and statistical modeling.
  • Engage with senior leadership to define product marketing strategy and global direction.
  • Conduct public research to gather pertinent competitor information and present competitive intelligence reports, recommending courses of action.
  • Manage 3rd party contractors to perform deeper level functional competitive analysis that cover purchasing, customer onboarding and application usage experiences. Includes the definition of Scope of Work, contractor coordination and reporting.
  • Build models of key competitor business metrics, e.g., market sizing across lines of business, market share, geo splits, etc.
  • Identify, procure and manage relevant sources of secondary market research and data, e.g., 3rd party analyst, PR firm findings, publicly available financial docs and filings, primary research, corporate assets, etc. to build and maintain a clear view of the market and its dynamics for the CCaaS and UCaaS space.
  • Devise innovative ways to acquire market intelligence and to develop new strategies to further enhance the market intelligence program.
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams across Vonage to gather, structure and analyze market information and deliver the resulting intelligence analysis to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop content in the form of presentations, documents, market and financial models and other deliverables that incorporate key research findings and implications to be consumed by a diverse group of stakeholders: from executive leadership, to sales, to product owners, etc.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for executives, customers and manage the content and delivery for webinars, tradeshows, analyst briefings, etc.
  • Synthesize data to provide decision makers with actionable insights as input to potential corporate, product, and sales strategies.
  • Contribute to major group deliverables including our quarterly and annual business planning processes.
  • Monitor  marketing execution and customer feedback to guide not only future marketing efforts but also product design and development.
  • Deliver innovative, best-practice and potentially game-changing programs designed to outperform the competition and significantly enhance Vonage’s success and profitability.
  • Develop project plans and schedules, including task assignments, resources, milestones, review points and reporting requirements.
  • Train, coach and mentor team members and broadly impact the organization.

Requirements and Employee Characteristics for Success: 

  • 7+ years experience in business strategy, intelligence, product marketing, strategic planning, customer insights, or similar job function.
  • Contact Center, Unified Communications, Telecom, and AI experience required, SaaS experience preferred.
  • Relevant degree, such as Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, MBA, Engineering, Finance, Statistics, Business/Administration, Education, Computer Science.
  • Ability to develop and lead complex multi-disciplinary teams and programs
  • Self-starter that can work independently to manage own workload effectively and with minimal supervision, as well as being part of a team.
  • Good analysis skills, including the ability to draw appropriate conclusions from large amounts of data, and to present findings and insights.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) with the ability to produce high quality content.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills are required with demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Professional and mature approach with the ability to comfortably interact with all levels, including Senior Management.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to prepare visual and engaging presentations as well as presenting publicly to small and medium sized audiences.
  • An inquisitive learner who likes to take on new challenges and opportunities.
  • Experience managing outside research vendors.
