DevOps Operator

Vonage Operations Engineers are responsible for all the activities involved in growing and maintaining our global AWS cloud based call processing platform. These activities include designing, enhancing, maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, monitoring, deploying, capacity planning, and documenting. Collaboration is a big part of the job as our engineers work closely with vendors, product support, and other external stakeholders. We are looking for innovative, go-getters to join us as we continue to push technology forward.
Essential Job Functions
- Create Software and Tooling that improves performance, stability, and reliability of the platform
- Develop, modify, and support infrastructure automation code
- Independently manage projects of varying size and complexity requiring high levels of functional integration.
- Perform lifecycle management of applications and operating systems
- Support the production deployment of new or modified operating systems and software applications.
- Monitor Application and Infrastructure metrics to help with improving software performance
- Periodic on-call support
- Have a wide breadth of knowledge from software, infrastructure, and security
- Adopt best practices and champion an engineering culture emphasizing Agile
Specific Requirements
- At least 5 years of applicable experience
- Experience with public cloud-based infrastructure deployments (AWS highly desired)
- Knowledge of automation software (Ansible or Terraform desired)
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Jenkins (JCASC) or ArgoCD
- Confident coding and debugging in languages such as Python
- Advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Working knowledge with databases such as MySQL and DynamoDB
- Working knowledge with network sniffers such as tcpdump/Wireshark/VoipMonitor
- Experience with DevOps practices
- Experience with on-call operations support
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science and/or related work experience
