Product Manager
The Job in short
As a Product Manager at Backbase, you take ownership of the entire life-cycle of certain features and components; from Discovery to Design and Development, all the way through to Launch. Your key focus is on defining and communicating product strategies, roadmaps and plans, working closely with customers and the field to identify and validate development opportunities, before collaborating with technical colleagues to deliver new capabilities that optimize value for Backbase and its customers.
We operate in a hybrid work model, so all candidates must be based in Kraków.

What you’ll be doing:
● With support from the Group/Lead Product Manager, create and communicate a clear strategy for developing your product, always informed by customer and market data and insight;
● Translate and communicate your product strategy into clear goals for your squad;
● Define your short and long term product roadmap;
● Work with your squad and delivery colleagues to plan, refine, and prioritize deliverables;
● Proactively manage stakeholder expectations around product delivery, progress and action plans;
● Proactively use data to monitor product performance and inform improvement plans;
● Gather and understand the finer details of stakeholder requirements
● Own the product life-cycle, from new product / feature creation to the decommission of old unused ones;
● Collaborate with technical leads to balance prioritization between feature development, bug fixes and technical enhancements;
● Collaborate with UX and Research teams to identify and prioritize topics for exploration and testing;
● Collaborate with Customer Success / Project colleagues to ensure deliverables meet customer expectations;
● Collaborate with Sales colleagues to improve awareness and understanding of the product (e.g. presentations, demos);
● Collaborate with capability owners from across the R&D function to prioritize, develop and leverage shared functionality in support of the wider Backbase platform.
How about you:
The essentials:
● Relevant background as a Product Manager, working iteratively with designers, engineers and other internal and external stakeholders throughout the product life-cycle;
● Passion for the customer, with extensive experience of gathering and working with customer feedback, either through direct customer contact or collaboration with research teams;
● Ability to identify, articulate and prioritize different types of customer and business value, transforming information into compelling cases for development investment;
● Ability to listen and interpret the needs of different stakeholder audiences;
● Experience presenting to both internal and external stakeholder audiences (with varying levels of seniority), either informative or persuasive.
● Experience working with data, with an ability to translate disparate customer feedback into tangible insights that drive product prioritization and decision making;
● Ability to make tough decisions and trade-off calls based on data and an understanding of customer and business impact;
● Understand market trends and emerging technologies, especially in the context of financial services;
● Knowledge of non-functional requirements and performance levers for consideration when scaling products;
● Experience working in the digital banking, financial services sector or with financial products.
As a bonus:
● Experience developing or using customer support solutions, from the perspective of an employee user;
● Experience with process and workflow management / orchestration / automation;
● Understand business rules engines and automated decision making;
● Experience with B2B2C products, catering for different personas (both users and buyers);
● Experience working with / starting new teams;
● Experience working with / solving problems around mid/back-office banking operations;
● Experience working with third party integrations, with an understanding of the opportunities and risks presented by external parties.
