Job Description:

The Director of HR Operations leads the design, implementation and administration of operational processes used to deliver HR programs and projects. Collaborates with managers and team members to provide consultation, process design of HR program implementation and initiatives, including compensation, benefits, reporting and space planning. Oversees, designs and implements data-driven initiatives and processes to ensure data integrity. Additional responsibilities may include studying and interpreting all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, and ensuring that all HR operations, processes, policies, and recordkeeping are compliant with the relevant laws. This role plays an integral role focusing on enhancing HR efficiency, streamlining processes, and contributing to a positive team member experience. A team of HR operations team members report to this position within the Operations Center of Expertise (COE).

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and administration of operational processes used to deliver HR programs as well as employee engagement programs geared to retain employees.
  • A hands-on approach to managing operations and engagement initiatives, while working with senior leaders as a strategic business partner.
  • Provide professional expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of the HR operation processes to create an efficiencies, transparency, and data integrity.
  • Oversees team member data management processes to ensure that data is secure and maintained consistent with WorldStrides’ policies and privacy regulations.
  • Manages a department function that includes benefits, HR systems, space planning and team member engagement.
  • Manage all aspects of benefits administration and broker relationships and ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and project management support during mergers and acquisitions, when applicable.
  • Experience with departmental budgets and forecasting.
  • Management of WorldStrides’ policies management and inventory.
  • Builds and manages strategic relationships to proactively facilitate effective information flow, decision making, and actions all HR actions across the unit and project levels.
  • Provides mentoring and coaching within the COE.
  • Actively work with HRBPs to identify any areas for improvement within the daily operational processes of the HR department; actively participate in improvement initiatives that increase the productivity, efficiency, standardization, and harmonization of HR operations.
  • Engages in solving HR problems by gathering facts, conducting proper consultations, and responding appropriately to each situation while working towards solutions that meets the needs of the business and culture.
  • Works with leadership to ensure WorldStrides fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation, and exceeding expectations through good management practices.
  • Oversee office management function and space planning to meet business needs to align with staffing strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical, managerial, or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge is a must.
  • Strong experience with HRIS, benefit renewals, compensation, and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and HRIS applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others are required.
  • Previous experience in capturing metrics and producing various employment reports preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or psychology, or in a relevant field of study preferred or equivalent combination of education
  • At least eight (8) years progressive human resources experience.
  • Some payroll and benefit experience preferred.
