Job Description:

The Health & Safety Coordinator will serve as a key member of WorldStrides’ Health & Safety Team, focusing on WorldStrides K12 programs and coordination of health and safety initiatives across the company.

Responsibilities:

• K12 Communications: Work with the Health & Safety team to coordinate and/or respond to inquiries from team members regarding our health, safety, and security policies, protocols and resources.

• Traveler Preparation: Support travel safety initiatives and provide education and training for travelers by aiding in the development and upkeep of Travel Smart, Travel Safe resources, pre-departure materials, and Codes of Conduct.

• Accessibility Coordination: Serve as a key member on the accessibility working group by liaising with Health & Safety, Product Delivery, Product Management, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to track client requests for accessibility accommodations and help improve response rates by maintaining client-facing and site-specific resources and other materials. Research accessibility of various program sites and attractions as needed

• Traveler Tracking: Assist in managing tracking of travelers across various platforms.

• Maintain Database: Assist with maintaining a database of Health & Safety resources, presentations, requests for proposals (RFP) responses, talking points, customer inquiry responses, and other departmental projects.


• Data Collection & Reporting: Summarize, analyze and report key trends and statistics regarding health, safety and security issues that may impact WorldStrides travelers.


• Participation in Presentations: Participate in presentations to WorldStrides teams regarding health, safety and security protocols.


• Emergency Management Manual and Crisis Response Team: Assist with annual updates and ongoing revisions and support team training. Help ensure individuals across the division understand their roles in the event of a crisis.


• On Tour Crisis Management: May occasionally support Health & Safety Leadership in implementing incident response plans during an on-program crisis.


• Other: Support other departmental initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in spoken and written English. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Minimum of three years of office experience, preferably in travel, operations, health & safety, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited University.
• Highly organized with strong time management skills. Able to handle multiple concurrent assignments and competing priorities with a high degree of accuracy to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
• Demonstrated self-starter with ability to identify projects and work independently to promote efficiency.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and exercise diplomacy during crisis resolution.
• High degree of professionalism with a customer service mindset and strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication and the utmost respect when interacting with both internal and external parties.
• Ability to conduct thorough research and analyze data.
• Expertise using Microsoft Office. Role will involve creating PowerPoint presentations for internal and external distribution.
• Flexible and responsive during extended or unscheduled hours, particularly in the event of an emergency.
