WPP is on a global transformation journey, and this is an opportunity to join and take the lead on cash and liquidity management and related risk management for Group Treasury.

What you'll be doing:

As Treasury Assistant Manager plays a critical role in supporting the overall treasury function, with a focus on optimizing liquidity, managing financial risks, and enhancing treasury operations. This position involves overseeing daily cash management activities, contributing to cash forecasting and analysis, assisting with banking relationships, and supporting debt and investment management.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a solid understanding of corporate finance and treasury principles. This role offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills and contribute to strategic treasury initiatives. Line management of at least 2 FTE.

This role will report into the Group Treasurer and key responsibilities are:

Cash and liquidity management

  • Oversee and direct the daily monitoring and management of cash balances across all US bank accounts, ensuring optimal liquidity and efficient fund utilization.
  • Review and approve daily cash movements, including wire transfers, ACH payments, and intercompany transfers.
  • Ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs while strategically optimizing the investment of excess cash.
  • Actively manage the Supply Chain Finance program to optimize short-term working capital.

Cash forecasting

  • Lead the short-term cash forecasting process, collaborating with various agencies to gather inputs and refine projections
  • Analyze variances between actual and forecasted cash flows and identify root causes and propose strategic recommendations
  • Provide insights and recommendations to optimize cash utilization and minimize borrowing costs.

 Banking Relationships & Operations:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for US banking partners regarding daily operations, service issues, and new product inquiries.
  • Conduct regular bank fee analysis to ensure competitive pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities.

 Treasury Systems and Technology

  • Optimization the use of the global treasury management systems (TMS) ensuring Global standardization across the platform
  • Working with Finance, Finance+ (shared services) and the ERP Transformation team as required on joint or Treasury led developments.

Ad hoc

  • Lead in treasury projects, such as system implementations (TMS, ERP), bank consolidations, or new payment initiatives.
  • Assist with other ad-hoc treasury analysis and tasks as required.
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements, bank KYC and internal controls for US or Group activities as required.

What you'll need:

Essential skills:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience within a Treasury department of an international business.
  • Knowledge and experience of cash and liquidity management including managing short-term loans, derivative arrangements, liquidity, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Experience in managing banking relationship
  • Line management experience of small or medium sized Treasury teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exposure to Treasury management systems (IT2 a plus)
  • Excellent project and time-management skills.
  • Advanced level of technical proficiency and computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English (reading, speaking, and writing).

Nice to have:

  • CTP, FRM or any relevant Accounting/Treasury or Risk related qualification desirable.
  • Knowledge of banking products and services
  • Experience in the media, advertising or relevant sector.

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. $75,000 - $180,000 USD
