Program Manager

WHO YOU ARE:

You are an experienced project management leader ready to direct a diverse team in a forward-thinking organization that constantly pushes boundaries. In this role, you will take charge of strategic project portfolios, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and flawless execution. You'll oversee project managers and collaborate across functions to deliver transformative internal business solutions. Your strong leadership skills and ability to drive project teams towards achieving high-stakes objectives will be  crucial.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As the Program manager, you will lead strategic initiatives and manage a team of
project managers to ensure successful delivery of significant outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:
Responsible for end-to-end project management and successful delivery of outcomes on assigned projects. 
Project Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including tasks, timelines, resources, and Define roles and responsibilities to create an effective project organization
    structure.
  • Allocate resources and set priorities to ensure successful project execution.
  • Regularly update project schedules and communicate any deviations from the plan.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs.
  • Collect and document detailed customer requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders.
  • Utilize various requirement-gathering techniques (e.g., planning sessions,
    brainstorming, focus groups) to define project deliverables.

Project Scope, time, and cost management:

  • Ensure that a project’s objectives are achieved within the constraints of available resources and timeframes.
  • Measure, monitor, and identify ways to deliver project objectives within estimated hours and timeframes.
  • Develop and manage to a budget, tracking expenses related to the project, and identifying ways to reduce costs or maximize resources.

Stakeholder Management and Communication: -

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, facilitating clear and transparent communication.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and milestones.
  • Communicate expectations in accordance with the project plan to align stakeholders and project team members.

Risk & Change Management:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively address and resolve issues to keep projects on track.

Team Coordination and Leadership:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure everyone is aligned with project objectives.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members,
    fostering a positive and productive work environment

Project Quality Management:

  • Monitor project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and stakeholders’ expectations.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and inspections as necessary.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Track project expenses and manage budgets to ensure projects are delivered within scope and on budget.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to optimize project performance.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including status reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant records.
  • Generate comprehensive reports for stakeholders, summarizing project progress and outcomes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Ten plus years of Project Management Experience – CAPM, PMP or similar designation preferred.
  • Twelve plus years’ total technology experience
  • Proven track record of delivering timely and accurate completion of multiple projects occurring simultaneously.
  • Understanding of technology governance and compliance. Previous involvement with technology teams is a plus, especially in roles that interact with IT systems within business operations.
  • Ability to manage a project using a variety of methodologies (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, etc).
  • Knowledge of project management tools and software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, Jira, etc.
  • Lead and manage a team of project managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment, promoting continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Experience with third-party system support, with preference given to insurance/financial services platforms.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the project lifecycle in complex technical environments.
  • Participation in the full software development life cycle.
  • Ability to tailor communications and influence critical decisions with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work within broadly defined parameters & lead and focus the efforts of others on established goals.
  • Knowledge of IT systems, governance, and compliance.
  • Proven problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • High degree of flexibility and strong collaboration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in a Tech / Product company
  • Knowledge of annuities and life products.
  • 6-8 years in an Agile environment.
  • PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent.
