Position Overview:

Join Zynga's Systems team as a Senior Cloud Engineer, where you will work with a dedicated group responsible for improving a variety of internal tools. We aim to share standard methodologies across all backend engineering teams and collaborate closely with every major mobile studio at Zynga. This exciting role, available from April 3, 2025, provides an outstanding chance to excel in a fast-paced environment and implement innovative solutions.

What You'll Do:

  • Prototype and test new in-house and vendor-supplied tools, managed services, deployment, and application frameworks.

  • Consult on the feature sets, performance, and applicability of tools to various product teams.

  • Develop, document, and maintain infrastructure tools to support tech modernization.

  • Define critical metrics for security, efficiency, and modernization, and build processes to assist users in their improvement.

  • Convert manual business workflows and requirements into application code in partnership with other business units.

  • Upgrade code for updated OS and application stacks in collaboration with studio partners.

  • Participate in crafting playbooks and assist other studios during on-call.

  • Manage roles, policies, and network resources in a multi-account/cloud environment, offering Tier 1 support for related changes.

  • Review standard methodologies for application development and security guidelines.

  • Develop, maintain, and operate high availability services for fleet management, security tooling, configuration management, and storage.

  • Automate repetitive support tasks to reduce manual intervention, lower support hours, and decrease overall support costs.

What You'll Bring:

  • BS/IS with 4 years in a professional Developer/Operations/Administration role or equivalent experience.

  • Customer service approach, understanding customer needs and ensuring actions are in their best interests.

  • Scientific and engineering approach with skills in problem-solving through research, hypothesis, testing, and analysis.

  • Practical experience with Enterprise Linux environments, development, deployment, maintenance, OS/Application monitoring, debugging, and orchestration patterns.

  • Professional experience building Linux VMs hosted in Cloud Providers, both manually and using automation tools.

  • Expertise in coding infrastructure orchestration tools like Puppet, Chef, Terraform, and Cloudformation.

  • Proven experience deploying, configuring, recovering, and maintaining common AWS compute, access management, and storage products.

  • Proficiency in automating processes via command line tools like BASH, AWS CLI.

  • Experience writing monitoring tools, formal application development, or serverless functions in a professional environment.

  • Strong English written and verbal skills, with the ability to engage with customers and provide clear procedural instructions, conceptual overviews, and implementation guides.
