About the Role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Transformation Team, focused on building scalable, reliable, and observable data solutions that support operational excellence and data-driven decision making.

This role goes beyond traditional data engineering, ensuring that our data platform operates with high availability, quality, and resilience.

 

Key Responsabilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data products using modern data platforms
  • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes ensuring performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Implement data observability practices (monitoring, alerting, logging, data quality checks)
  • Define and track SLAs/SLOs for data pipelines and datasets
  • Actively participate in on-call rotations, supporting critical data pipelines and platform components
  • Lead or support incident response, troubleshooting data failures, delays, and inconsistencies
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions to avoid recurrence
  • Improve system reliability through automation, resiliency patterns, and failure handling strategies
  • Collaborate with Operations and Analytics teams to deliver high-quality datasets and actionable insights
  • Ensure data governance standards, including data lineage, documentation, and consistency across systems
  • Contribute to the evolution of the data platform architecture and reliability standards

 

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Python and SQL for data processing and transformation
  • Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake)
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, normalization, etc.)
  • Experience building and orchestrating data pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting production data issues
  • Understanding of monitoring, alerting, and incident management practices
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (Azure preferred)
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills in distributed systems environments

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Data Observability frameworks.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic or similar)
  • Experience with SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, incident postmortems)
  • Experience with streaming or near real-time data pipelines
  • Exposure to data governance and data quality frameworks
  • Experience supporting analytics/reporting environments (Power BI or similar)
