THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Director of Fulfillment & Distribution to support and optimize our global fulfillment and distribution operations. In this strategic leadership role, you will ensure that our third-party logistics partnerships, fulfillment processes, and inventory management systems align with company objectives, while focusing on operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness. This position will report to the Senior Director of Global Fulfillment & Distribution and will play a key role in implementing the strategic vision within the U.S. and other regional operations.
The ideal candidate will be a strong problem-solver, capable of managing complex logistics operations while ensuring continuous process improvements and maintaining exceptional service standards.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead all third-party fulfillment operations to ensure orders are shipped on time, accurately, and in full.
- Ensure efficient processes are in place to meet and exceed customer expectations while achieving operational goals.
- Drive the optimization of fulfillment processes, from inventory management to transportation, to ensure on-time delivery and fulfillment accuracy.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations and reduce costs.
- Work closely with internal teams, including Finance, Marketing, Tech, and Member Experience, to ensure alignment of fulfillment strategies with broader company objectives.
- Ensure the successful flow of information between teams to optimize operations and meet customer requirements.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers, ensuring performance meets company standards. Conduct regular performance reviews and drive improvements in cost-efficiency, on-time delivery, and shipment quality.
- Develop and track KPIs and performance metrics to monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of fulfillment and distribution processes. Regularly report on performance to leadership, identifying areas for improvement and driving results.
- Implement cost tracking and budgeting processes for fulfillment operations.
- Ensure efficient inventory movement between fulfillment centers and monitor financial performance to align with company targets.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality customer service and visibility throughout the order fulfillment process.
- Implement flexible delivery and pickup options to enhance customer satisfaction.Address final-mile delivery issues and improve packaging to ensure product integrity during transit.
- Collaborate with the tech team to ensure the successful integration of new products, systems, and tools with fulfillment and distribution partners. Monitor product setup and transaction processes to ensure operational efficiency.
- Lead day-to-day issue resolution for fulfillment operations, prioritizing problems, and working quickly to develop effective solutions.
- Oversee inventory accuracy in warehouse management systems (WMS) and ensure the integrity of data flow throughout the fulfillment process. Conduct regular audits and manage inventory counts.
- Support the implementation and launch of new third-party logistics providers or fulfillment center relocations, ensuring smooth transitions and operational readiness.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive leadership experience in distribution, fulfillment, and logistics operations, with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams.
- Extensive experience managing third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and driving strategic partnerships to optimize fulfillment and distribution operations.
- Deep understanding of managing 3PL relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring operational excellence through data-driven decision-making.
- Demonstrated success in managing high-volume, fast-paced fulfillment environments, particularly in industries involving perishable goods.
- Experience with subscription-based fulfillment models is highly desirable, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of demand forecasting, inventory management, and delivery precision.
- A seasoned leader with substantial experience in rapidly growing organizations, adept at scaling operations efficiently and aligning fulfillment and distribution strategies with business growth goals.
- Extensive background in managing fulfillment and distribution operations within e-commerce and direct-to-consumer (DTC) models.
- Proficient in optimizing order fulfillment workflows, managing inventory, and ensuring a seamless, high-quality customer experience from order to delivery.
- A passionate advocate for delivering a premium, seamless customer experience at every touchpoint.
- Highly skilled in the use of business software suites, including ERP, WMS, and TMS systems.
- Experience with data analytics tools and reporting platforms is essential for making strategic, data-driven decisions that improve operational efficiency.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple, complex projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong sense of urgency with a proven track record of performing under pressure while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- A highly analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to drive operational decisions.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external partners.
- Proven track record in managing relationships and driving alignment between multiple stakeholders.
- Expertise in quality control processes and procedures, with a focus on maintaining product integrity, optimizing inventory management, and improving operational efficiencies.
- Adept at leading continuous improvement initiatives that drive cost savings, process optimization, and customer satisfaction.

AG1 is dedicated to providing equitable and competitive compensation & benefits packages. For this particular role, the base salary range is $141,000.00 - $175,500.00 and will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate’s level of skills and experience aligned with the needs of this role. Base salary is one component of total compensation for this position. We provide a competitive mix of base salary, performance bonus, and stock option allocation for eligible roles
