Compensation: $45–$55 per hour, based on experience


The Opportunity

Alpha Inc. is seeking a hands-on, highly skilled Drill Rig Mechanic to keep our operations moving with precision and reliability. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our fleet of drill rigs and support equipment—helping us deliver critical water well and geotechnical projects across the state.

You’ll be in the field, getting your hands dirty alongside the drilling crew, ensuring that our equipment runs smoothly and safely in some of the most demanding and rewarding conditions in the industry. What You Will Do

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on drill rigs and support equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and service hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.

  • Conduct field service repairs at remote job sites as needed.

  • Overhaul and rebuild engines, compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.

  • Maintain accurate logs for service, repairs, and parts inventory.

  • Minimize equipment downtime through responsive service and proactive communication.

  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints for equipment repairs.

  • Enforce OSHA and company safety standards on every job.


What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment, Diesel, or Drill Rig Mechanic.

  • Deep knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, diesel systems, and heavy equipment.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with diesel engines, compressors, and mud pumps.

  • Field repair experience and adaptability to remote job site conditions.

  • Physical stamina and ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in variable weather.

  • Welding/fabrication skills (preferred).

  • Valid CDL A or willingness to obtain (preferred).

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
