Description:

Virtual Validation Tools Lead prepares and runs PoC (Proof of Concept)  and Design Proposal review sessions, helping development Feature Exploration and Vehicle Development Teams confirm items related to appearance, visibility, and usability to increase decision confidence, accelerate the development pace, and reduce costs such as travel time, rapid prototyping.The Lead also continuously improves company's validation arena experience and tool set with new methods, hardware, and software, keeping current with industry trends and cutting-edge innovations. The Lead uses knowledge of the company's development systems and structures to anticipate Team and corporate needs.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Estimate time required to import, organize, and prepare data and the validation environment for review sessions.
  • Track activities and retain data for future reviews.
  • Attend conferences to remain current on industry trends and innovations, and to network with potential software and hardware suppliers.
  • Import data from Catia V5 and 3DX into other VR software using several formats.
  • Apply color, materials, finishes, and shadows to the data as required by the review purpose.
  • Introduce users to VR headsets, controls, and procedures to ensure safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Support members at other Company's xR sites through knowledge exchange and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand the purpose of each review, along with the scope and schedule.
  • Correlate closely with Physical Build and Technology Buck members to determine the best combination of physical/virtual elements to achieve review targets.
  • Choose the appropriate software and method to achieve review session targets.
  • Ensure hardware and software is functioning and ready for each review session.
  • Prepare the data, options, controls, menus, physical bucks, and object trackers for efficient reviews.
  • Coordinate scheduling Experience Arena for efficient reviews.
  • Coordinate resources in California, Japan, and other company locations as needed for multi-site collaborative reviews.
  • Operate xR software and Experience Arena to present users with elements needed in real time to achieve review goals.
  • Capture screenshots and/or videos to preserve and present review results to stakeholders.
  • Install and verify updates to hardware and software systems.
  • Run occasional demos for new hires, executives, departments, interns, etc.
  • Lead the buildout of the Company's Experience Arena to support next gen proof of concept testing and clinic validation Act as the main designer and operator of the company's Experience Arena Identify, implement, and manage all relevant software required to operate the Arena Conduct future research to continuously grow the capability and effectiveness of the Experience Arena to support designers in the pursuit of continuous new value creation ventures

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience using & implementing digital validation tools (i.e VR tools, etc).
  • Experience building one off human level simulated environments.
  • Cinema or Stage set design experience is a plus.
  • Capable in Office suite, Catia V5, Autodesk VRED.
  • Capable in Dassault 3DX, Python scripting.
  • Exposure to Camtasia or equivalent video editing tools.
  • Technology Associates or BS equivalent.

Job Skills:

  • Self Motivation
  • Proficiency in all relevant software (Office, Dassault tools, VRED, Python, misc. others).
  • Ability to interpret detailed schedules and prioritize activities.
  • Ability and motivation to learn new technical skills with little direction or oversight.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to visualize full sensory validation environments with the capacity to lay out the steps to get there.
  • Innovative spirit with strong history of practical application of innovation efforts.
