
Restraint System Integration and Test Engineer

We are currently seeking a Restraint System Integration and Testing Engineer. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will contribute to the growth of a high-performance team, combining their high skills in their respective fields with the company/industry standard to optimize their outcome, maintaining detailed and accessible development history, exposing their Engineering judgements, while acting in a timely manner, possessing the ability to learn quickly and strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
The Role:
• Be responsible for the Restraint Sub-system integration and their testing in the vehicle:
o For new development as well as model years variants
o Raise Integration development plans forecast and keep it up-to-date
o Manage Testing from forecast to test report
o Manage test material from forecast to tear down
o Support creation and continued improvement of company specifications with DRE’s
o Persistent usage of personal and company's engineering skills to gain knowledge from each situation. Transfer this knowledge to the team to keep growing personal and company's skills.
o As a team, drive Test Report creation, closure, and submission for approval within 24 hours of test series completion
o Support general operations in the Test Lab (6S, mat’l order, etc.)
o Define and lead continued improvement and calibration activities
o Obtain Lucid certification for, and safely operate a fork-lift
• Work together with the Restraints and Interiors DRE to learn the design and behavior of their individual parts and drive the common development for the sub-system
• Raise or collect tests reports
• For sub-system tests under Lucid responsibility, perform 1st level analysis, feed Restraints test database with test data, reports and fill in the 1st level analysis standard form
• For tests under Tier 1 responsibility, collect the data and report, feed Restraints test database and fill in the 1st level analysis standard form
• Manage root cause analysis with the owners of the components involved in the issue.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and above in Mechanical Engineering or other related fields
• Some knowledge about the design and engineering of airbags and/or interiors parts, direct experience in automotive OEM or Tier 1 suppliers
• Strong Engineering fundamentals in problem-solving
• The ability to articulate highly technical issues to audiences not in the crash safety field, such as top management, design studio, purchasing team, etc.
• High ethics
• Physical capacity to manipulate interiors parts in and out of test bucks or tests fixtures
Preferred
• Curiosity, thoroughness
• Experience in assy and dis-assy of Automotive interiors parts
• Experience in testing (crash, airbag deployment, seats, IP and/or upper trims)
• Knowledge of CAE analysis and restraint system integration and optimization
Note: Sub-system means the Airbag together with the host component, like PAB and KAB in IP, SAB in seat, CAB in roof rail, etc.
Salary Range: $90,000-110,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
