About the team

The Legal Team is pivotal to accomplishing Angi’s mission of Jobs Done Well through guidance, execution, and expertise. The Legal Team shares insights, proactively notifies the business of relevant updates to the law that impact the business. The Legal Team is nimble and works cross-functionally across all levels of the organization to share expertise and build processes to achieve business goals. 

What you’ll do

As Angi’s compliance attorney, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This includes advising on a wide range of compliance matters, conducting risk assessments, developing and implementing compliance programs, drafting and reviewing policies and procedures, and providing training to employees. You will also be responsible for monitoring regulatory developments, investigating potential compliance breaches, and preparing for and responding to regulatory inquiries and audits, all while collaborating closely with various internal departments.

  • Provide expert legal advice on a broad range of compliance matters, including employment, consumer protection, privacy, and regulatory affairs.
  • Conduct internal risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential areas of concern. Provide recommendations and work cross functionally to achieve compliance.
  • Develop a well-documented, comprehensive, and adaptable compliance program that effectively identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks.
  • Develop compliance training materials.
  • Creation of compliance policies, guidelines, templates, presentations, etc.
  • Perform risk assessments with respect to areas of compliance.

Who you are

  • 4 - 6 years of experience in compliance, employment, or corporate legal positions. 
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in a relevant jurisdiction, and maintained good standing.
  • Excellent research skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate and satisfy numerous competing demands in a timely fashion with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Skill in interpreting applicable federal and state compliance laws and regulations.
  • Strong policy and business sense, and the ability to work collaboratively with others to assess risks and solve problems.
  • Highly organized, efficient and process focused. Ability to prioritize well, effectively manage multiple tasks and meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High standards of ethics, discretion, and integrity.
  • Familiarity with laws applicable to an internet company is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The salary band for this position ranges from $160,000 - $190,000 commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as cost of living. 
  • This position will be eligible for a competitive year end performance bonus & equity package.
