The role…
As a Sales Engineering Team Lead (SLED), you will serve as a player/coach, leading and mentoring a team of Sales Engineers while actively engaging with customers. You will oversee the pre-sales process from a technical standpoint, conduct product demonstrations and proof-of-values (POVs), and provide strategic technical expertise. Collaborating closely with sales and product teams, you will ensure successful customer engagement and drive revenue growth.
What you’ll do…
Direct Customer Engagement:
- Deliver demonstrations and POVs to showcase the company's cybersecurity solutions.
- Engage directly with key customers to understand technical requirements and address challenges.
- Act as a trusted advisor, offering technical insights and recommendations for successful outcomes.
- Conduct customer site visits, presentations, and consultations to support sales initiatives.
Leadership:
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Sales Engineers, fostering professional growth and technical excellence.
- Set performance goals, monitor progress, and evaluate individual and team performance.
- Cultivate a collaborative and high-performance culture within the sales engineering team.
Sales Support and Strategy:
- Collaborate with the sales team to align technical solutions with customer needs and objectives.
- Provide technical expertise and support throughout the sales process, including demonstrations and proposals.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s products, technologies, and industry trends to articulate value propositions effectively.
- Assist in defining sales strategies and contribute to developing technical sales collateral.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product management to provide feedback on features, enhancements, and market demands.
- Partner with the marketing team to develop technical content, case studies, and sales tools.
- Coordinate with implementation and support teams to ensure a seamless transition from sales to customer success.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging cybersecurity technologies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance sales engineering operations.
- Provide senior management with regular reports, metrics, and insights on team performance and sales effectiveness.
What we expect…
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in technical pre-sales positions (SE, Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect), ideally for a cybersecurity vendor, is required.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- In-depth technical knowledge of cybersecurity solutions and industry best practices.
- Strong customer focus and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data and metrics to drive decisions.
- Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
