Overview

This position reports directly to the Senior Cost Accounting and Inventory Manager and will be primarily responsible for overseeing and managing Astera Labs’ cost accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing insights to support business decision-making. The ideal candidate has semiconductor experience and a strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls structures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.
  • Manage month end close process, prepare journal entries and reconciliations for cost variances, manufacturing overhead, accruals and cost allocations.
  • Analyze material and manufacturing service costs, monitor cost variances, bonus receipts, scrap, write-offs and other charges and work with Business Operations to identify trends, inefficiencies or opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluate standard costs, coordinate with Business Operations and manage quarterly standard cost updates.
  • Monitor inventory levels across all product lines, perform reconciliation process and ensure accurate recording of inventory valuation with accounting principles.
  • Prepare quarterly reserve analysis according to policy
  • Support cost and inventory forecast process
  • Prepare management analysis and reports for to support quarterly forecast and close results process.
  • Review results of cycle counts and quarterly subcon inventory reconciliations
  • Support PBC requests from external auditors (financial audit and SOX)

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Finance or accounting, and 5+ years of experience in product costing and inventory control, preferably in a semiconductor industry
  • Proficiency in ERP system (Oracle, SAP, etc.) and advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and related inventory valuation concepts
  • Clear understanding of internal controls framework
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of financial transaction flows and financial reporting
  • Ability to identify issues and proactively drive resolution
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

The base salary range is USD 147,00 - USD 160,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
