Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company

Join our IT team as an Atlassian Solutions Engineer where you will play a crucial role in designing, configuring, and maintaining Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket to support project management, collaboration, and software development processes. The role involves customizing workflows, implementing basic automation, and developing scripts to extend the functionality of Atlassian tools. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure the tools meet business needs, while automating repetitive tasks to improve productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Design and Implementation: Design and implement tailored Atlassian solutions by configuring projects, workflows, user permissions, and dashboards within Jira and Confluence. Customize the tools to align with Agile, Scrum, or other business processes.
  • Automation and Scripting: Implement basic automation within Atlassian tools using Jira Automation Rules to streamline processes such as task assignment, notifications, and status transitions. Develop and maintain custom scripts (e.g., using Groovy or JavaScript) to automate more advanced workflows and extend the platform’s functionality.
  • Integration and Customization: Work on integrating Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket) with third-party systems such as CI/CD pipelines, Slack, Google Workspace, GitHub, and other DevOps tools, using REST APIs or connectors. Leverage scripting to enable seamless data exchange between systems.
  • Administration & Configuration: Perform system administration tasks, including creating custom workflows, fields, screens, and permissions. Configure Jira Service Management to support service desk operations. Ensure all configurations are optimized for system performance and ease of use.
  • User Support & Training: Provide expert-level technical support for Atlassian users, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with other IT teams as needed. Conduct training sessions and develop guides on Jira and Confluence, including best practices for using basic automation and custom scripts.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Create and customize Jira dashboards and reports to track performance metrics such as task completion rates, backlog management, and sprint progress. Use automation to generate and distribute reports or trigger scripted actions based on data.
  • Plugin Management & Customization: Research, install, and configure plugins to extend Atlassian tool capabilities. Customize and automate processes using plugins such as ScriptRunner to further enhance Jira’s functionality through scripting.
  • Documentation: Document system configurations, workflows, and automation rules. Maintain guides for common tasks, custom scripts, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure consistent usage of Atlassian tools.
  • Security & Compliance: Manage user roles, groups, and permissions to ensure secure and compliant access to Atlassian systems. Implement data governance policies, including backup and retention strategies, and monitor access logs for any potential issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with the latest Atlassian features, plugins, and scripting best practices. Continuously identify and implement improvements to increase team productivity through automation and customization.

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Significant experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) and proven expertise in configuring, automating, and extending their functionality.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, JavaScript, Python) to develop custom workflows and extend Atlassian tools.
  • Knowledge of Jira Automation Rules and experience in developing custom scripts for advanced process automation (e.g., ScriptRunner).
  • Familiarity with Jira/Confluence REST APIs and integrating Atlassian tools with other systems.
  • Experience in Agile, Scrum, or DevOps methodologies and how they can be implemented within Jira.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator, Atlassian Certified Jira Project Administrator) are a plus.
  • Technical expertise: Deep understanding of Atlassian tools, with the ability to configure, customize, and extend functionality through scripting and automation.
  • Scripting & automation: Proficiency in developing and maintaining custom scripts to automate workflows and enhance platform features.
  • Problem-solving: Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues and optimizing workflows through scripting.
  • Communication & training: Ability to train users and teams on best practices, tool usage, and basic automation, including how to use custom scripts effectively.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
