WHY BOX NEEDS YOU:

Box seeks a talented Business Systems Engineer III to join our Enterprise Systems Tech Delivery team, driving the scalability and efficiency of our Order to Cash workflows. You will administer, develop, and optimize Zuora, Avalara, and Adyen systems to support subscription management, invoicing, tax compliance, and payment processing.

Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering innovative solutions and supporting critical business processes that directly influence Box’s growth, compliance, and customer experience. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge financial technologies, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on Box’s scalability and success.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

 

  • System Development, Integration, and Administration - design, configure, and administer Zuora, Adyen, and Avalara systems while managing integrations with ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite) and financial tools (e.g., Planful, Concur) using SnapLogic and APIs.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues related to subscription management, tax calculations, invoicing, and payment workflows, collaborating with vendors to maintain seamless operations.

  • Process Optimization and Scalability - automate and streamline critical financial workflows, improving efficiency across subscription billing, tax compliance, and payment operations.

  • Enhance order management systems to ensure scalability, data integrity, and alignment with business goals.

  • Compliance, Reporting, and Reconciliation - configure Avalara to meet multi-jurisdictional tax requirements, ensuring compliance and providing audit-ready financial reports.

  • Implement and manage automated reconciliation processes to maintain data integrity and support accurate financial reporting.

  • Testing and Deployment - lead QA and regression testing for system upgrades and deployments, ensuring minimal disruption to financial workflows.

  • Develop and execute detailed test scripts, validating system changes and ensuring performance reliability.

  • Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing - partner with cross-functional teams in Finance, Accounting, IT, and SOX to implement aligned solutions and drive process improvements.

  • Foster a knowledge-sharing culture by training stakeholders and promoting best practices across enterprise systems.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience with Zuora, Avalara, and Adyen, specifically configuring, customizing, and integrating these platforms into Order to Cash workflows.

  • Proficiency in working with SaaS-based financial systems and cloud-native features.

  • Hands-on experience with SnapLogic or Mulesoft for scalable integration workflows and ETL platforms (ex. Alteryx).

  • Strong SQL skills for querying financial data, resolving discrepancies, and creating reports.

  • Familiarity with IT General Controls (ITGCs), including access controls, change management, and data backup/recovery processes, to ensure SOX compliance.

  • Understanding of data encryption techniques to secure sensitive financial data during transfers.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and scripting languages like Python or JavaScript or TypeScript to automate workflows.

  • Knowledge of automated testing tools like Jira Xray and financial reporting standards (e.g., ASC 606, IFRS 15).

  • Expertise in global tax compliance, including VAT/GST regulations and localization for regions like APAC, EMEA, and North America.

  • Preferred Skills:

    • Experience integrating financial systems with ERP platforms like NetSuite and planning tools like Planful.

    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira, Confluence, and DevOps practices.

    • Certifications in Zuora, Avalara, or Adyen platforms (e.g., Certified Zuora Administrator).
