In addition to our recent growth in Federal Civilian agencies, we are seeking to expand our capabilities in cloud development and footprint in national-security focused agencies within the Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community.

CTEC develops and delivers innovative customer-centric technologies and solutions that facilitate the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).

Job Summary:

Responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing the project activities of assigned projects. Provides direction to project teams and/or group leaders to achieve project-related activities. Monitors project performance against budget and overall progress against schedule identifies other deviations from the project plan and implements corrective actions. Provides for project and/or group personnel administration, assigns personnel for key project positions, and approves the appointment of others. Provides input to and approval of project budgets and schedules. Participates in division policy planning and development.
A seasoned, experienced professional with a complete understanding of specialized areas and working knowledge of related fields. Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is a fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. Provides resolutions to diverse, complex problems where data analysis requires evaluating identifiable factors. Contributes to the development of the organization's goals and objectives. Works under limited direction; receives general instructions on new assignments. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Determines approach to solutions, plans schedules, and arranges activities to accomplish objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage assigned projects' activities.
• Provide direction to project teams and/or group leaders to achieve project-related activities.
• Monitor project performance against budget and overall progress against schedule.
• Identify deviations from the project plan and implement corrective actions.
• Provide project and/or group personnel administration.
• Assign personnel for key project positions and approve the appointment of others.
• Provide input to and approval of project budgets and schedules.
• Participate in division policy planning and development.
• Serve as a Control Account Manager (CAM) responsible for planning, budgeting, managing, and controlling costs and schedule performance for a project or subproject.
• Present project management performance plans, status updates, trends, or issues to federal sponsors.
• Lead constructability reviews of the design process and the potential impacts on construction cost and schedule.
• Ensure work packages realistically represent the duration and budget necessary to perform work.
• Perform variance analysis reviews, determine the cause and effect of schedule or cost variance, and define achievable corrective action plans.
• Provide personal leadership, direction, and technical advice regarding health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Skills & Work Experience:
• Minimum of ten years of work experience in project management.
• Proven leadership and management skills to organize, direct, and control a team of workers.
• Advanced experience managing construction projects, including proactively managing project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools and processes.
• Experience identifying project risks, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing corrective actions.
• Advanced knowledge of all phases and complexity of construction projects, upgrades, renovations, and D&D.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with facility maintenance and/or construction management.
• Understanding of collective bargaining agreements related to all trades.
• Knowledge of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures.
• Ability to understand and interpret various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Strong and practical customer engagement skills.
• Experience interfacing with program, project, and line management to develop clear and executable action plans.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or specialized courses in project management.
• Experience in engineering, procurement, and construction.
• Nuclear experience.

Clearance: Active DOE-Q Clearance required.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
