The Role

We’re looking for a Strategy & Operations Leader who thrives in high-growth, zero-to-one environments, someone who can build systems, scale teams, and eliminate friction across the company.

You’ll sit at the intersection of operations, product, CX, and strategy, working to design the operating backbone that keeps Emergent moving fast as we scale exponentially.

This role is about creating clarity where ambiguity exists, building workflows that make teams unstoppable, and designing processes that turn chaos into predictable excellence. If you love solving hard operational problems, driving cross-functional alignment, and building frameworks that scale across orgs this is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect and scale the operational engine - designing processes, playbooks, and systems that unlock speed, visibility, and efficiency across the org.
  • Integrate tools and automate workflows, dramatically shrinking cycle times (think: reducing processes from weeks to days).
  • Build cross-functional operating cadences with Product, Marketplace, CX, HR, and Tech -OKRs, governance, and strategic rhythms that align teams.
  • Lead transformation projects, from centralizing siloed teams to building new strategic verticals from scratch.
  • Design SOPs, documentation systems, and change management mechanisms that drive org-wide adoption and accountability.
  • Improve customer experience through operational excellence, reducing escalations, service gaps, and complaint ratios.
  • Establish escalation desks and issue resolution systems that cut turnaround times and improve quality.
  • Develop training frameworks, capability programs, and people-first initiatives that lift team performance and morale.
  • Use data as a superpower, building dashboards, measurement frameworks, and operational analytics that guide leadership decisions.
  • Partner deeply with product and engineering to resolve production issues, improve tech response times, and shape how product and operations work together at scale.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, strategy, business ops, CX, or program leadership, ideally in fast-scaling startups.
  • A systems thinker who loves turning broken or ambiguous workflows into elegant operating models.
  • Deep experience with process design, SOP creation, workflow automation, and operational analytics.
  • Comfortable leading teams of 10-30 people, while also rolling up your sleeves to fix the root cause of problems.
  • Strong cross-functional instincts - your natural environment is working with Product, Engineering, HR, Marketplace, CX, and Leadership.
  • An empathetic people-leader who builds capability, culture, and upward mobility within teams.
  • Analytical, structured, and data-driven—with working knowledge of tools like Excel, Sheets, Tableau, Retool, Zendesk, Freshdesk, or Salesforce.
  • Above all, you are someone who loves building processes, systems, clarity, and teams.
