About the Team

Launched in 2021, Fanatics Betting and Gaming is the online and retail sports betting subsidiary of Fanatics, a global digital sports platform. The Fanatics Sportsbook is available to 95% of the addressable online sports bettor market in the U.S. Fanatics Casino is currently available online in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Fanatics Betting and Gaming operates twenty-two retail sports betting locations, including the only sportsbook inside an NFL stadium at Northwest Stadium. Fanatics Betting and Gaming is headquartered in New York with offices in Denver, Leeds and Dublin.

Overview

As a Mobile Software Engineer III at Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG), you’ll be a hands-on engineer contributing to the development of modern, scalable mobile experiences using Kotlin and Compose Multiplatform. You’ll work as part of a collaborative team to build high-quality features, improve performance, and help evolve our mobile platforms.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in mobile development who is looking to grow their skills in areas like Compose Multiplatform and Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM), while working in a fast-paced, product-driven environment. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to our Casino Backend-for-Frontend (BFF), written in Kotlin.

You’ll join the Fanatics Casino team, which owns the full iCasino experience across Fanatics platforms, including our standalone Casino App, iCasino within the Fanatics Sportsbook & Casino App, and our Casino Desktop website. Our mission is to build the top online casino in the U.S., focused on fun, dynamic, personalised, entertainment-focussed products for our players.

Our mobile stack is built for speed and scale, using technologies like Kotlin, Compose Multiplatform, and modern cross-platform approaches, enabling us to deliver high-quality features quickly while maintaining strong engineering standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy mobile features using Kotlin and Compose Multiplatform
  • Contribute to building intuitive, responsive UI and reliable business logic
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver features end-to-end
  • Write clean, maintainable code that aligns with team standards and architecture
  • Participate in technical discussions and contribute ideas as you grow your experience
  • Support production systems by helping investigate and resolve issues when they arise
  • Take part in code reviews and learn from feedback to continuously improve
  • Contribute to improving test coverage, documentation, and overall code quality
  • Participate in sprint planning and Agile ceremonies
  • Build an understanding of our product and customer experience

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional mobile development experience
  • Experience building mobile applications using Kotlin
  • Familiarity with modern Android UI frameworks
  • Understanding of mobile fundamentals (app lifecycle, state management, APIs)
  • Experience working in a collaborative, Agile development environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Interest in learning new technologies and improving as an engineer

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Compose Multiplatform or Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM)
  • Basic experience with Swift / SwiftUI or interest in cross-platform development
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and backend integration
  • Experience with CI/CD tools or automated testing
  • Interest in mobile performance, observability, or app quality improvements
  • Experience working in fast-paced or product-focused environments
  • Interest in gaming, mobile apps, or entertainment products
