About The Role
The Art Director will be a pivotal member of the Creative team, helping to lead the visual direction and brand expression of F. Schumacher across all touchpoints. This role requires a high-level creative thinker who combines aesthetic excellence with strategic clarity and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate is a lover of beauty with a deep passion for imagery, is a master visual storyteller and deeply passionate about the worlds of interior design, luxury fashion, editorial design, and culture.
You will work with the Creative Director on ideation, design, and production of marketing campaigns, print materials, digital assets, product launches, and social content— ensuring that every visual output reinforces the essence of Schumacher’s legacy, creativity, and brand voice.
Responsibilities
Creative Direction & Brand Stewardship
- Finetune the visual identity of Schumacher across all channels, ensuring consistency, elegance, and innovation, working with the Creative Director
- Partner with the VP of Editorial Marketing, Associate Style Director and other marketing leaders to translate strategic objectives into compelling visual narratives.
- Help set the tone and direction for seasonal campaigns, product launches, trade events, lookbooks, and collaborations.
- Concept and execute high-impact creative for email, web, catalogs, digital advertising, print media, packaging, and social platforms.
Campaigns, Shoots & Production
- Collaborate with marketing team, stylists, photographers, videographers, and editors to ensure elevated, brand-aligned content.
- Manage image selection, retouching, and quality control.
- Manage data base of imagery
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Guide and mentor junior designers, freelancers, and cross-functional partners, fostering a culture of excellence and creativity.
- Provide clear, thoughtful feedback and creative direction across projects and workflows.
- Partner closely with internal departments—including Product Design, Sales, Merchandising, and E-commerce—to meet business and creative goals.
- Work with smaller subbrands on marketing needs
Execution & Oversight
- Maintain and manage project timelines, workflows, and priorities across concurrent projects.
- Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of craft, originality, brand alignment, and business impact.
- Review and approve production-ready files for digital and print channels.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of experience in art direction, graphic design, or branding—preferably in the luxury, lifestyle, fashion, or design space.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a refined aesthetic, storytelling ability, and brand leadership.
- Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom); familiarity with Figma, After Effects, and other platforms a plus.
- Deep understanding of typography, layout, composition, and color theory.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Able to balance hands-on design execution with high-level creative thinking.
- Strong knowledge of both digital and print production processes.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Deep understanding of the luxury consumer mindset and brand alignment strategy.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Proven ability to multi-task successfully and prioritize work
- Display a track record of dependability

Salary Range
$120,000 - $130,000 USD
