About the Role

We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Money Movement Fraud Strategy Analyst to join our Fraud Prevention team. The candidate will be responsible for money movement fraud detection and fraud prevention strategy, monitoring and proposing new controls as it relates to preventing suspicious money movement activity. The candidate will support implementing a robust analytical framework for identifying potential fraud exposure, partner with broader stakeholders to review fraudulent activity across multiple channels of exposure, participate and address fraud review calibrations .

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop money movement fraud 1st line program assessment methodology and approach.
  • Provide actionable feedback and recommendations to improve fraud program resilience.
  • Record discrepancies between existing controls and the level of risk protection required, highlighting areas where enhancements are needed.
  • Report/escalate identified trends and patterns.
  • Supports fraud strategy implementations and analysis including participating in internal fraud reviews, implementing baseline transactional fraud rules, and configuring required reporting.
  • Conducts thorough reviews and inquiries on identified and suspicious transactions.
  • Communicates significant fraud issues to Management and makes recommendations when weaknesses are identified.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of relevant prevention experience in the financial services industry, including a working knowledge of industry standard money movement elements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the money service business industry, methods and industry best practices for transaction analysis, fraud detection and prevention.
  • Experience in creating the necessary policies and procedures to address transactional and operational fraud controls.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets to identify suspicious transactions or patterns. Ability to apply sound judgment, effectively solves problems, and determines fraudulent activity consistently.
  • Basic proficiency with SQL to pull out datasets for analysis.

  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently or within a group under minimal daily direction.
