Position Description
General Atlantic is looking to hire a full-time analyst to support the Portfolio Management team with a particular focus on the investment committee and due diligence process. This role is a two-year program (with the ability to extend, depending on performance and business need). The role will be full-time and start on January 1, 2026. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Portfolio Management.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience by supporting GA’s due diligence, Investment Committee process, risk management, and finance effectiveness initiatives, as well as the portfolio management function covering the global growth equity product. This individual will play a key role in consolidating findings, synthesizing insights, and delivering data-driven presentations that contribute to high-impact decision-making. The Portfolio Management team works closely and collaborates with our investment team members, as well as partners on various teams throughout the Firm.
Responsibilities
- Assist in gathering and organizing data from diligence activities across multiple prospects, creating clear summaries that highlight key findings.
- Analyze financial and operational data to develop insights that support value creation and risk mitigation efforts. Utilize technology to identify trends, summarize metrics, and present findings.
- Work closely with Portfolio Management team to compile data-driven reports that capture the performance and financial status of portfolio companies, ensuring accuracy and a clear narrative.
- Create presentations for senior-level management, synthesizing information into visually engaging slides to support Investment Committee meetings and other internal discussions.
- Maintain and organize documentation related to diligence findings, reports, and presentations, ensuring information is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Support senior leadership with preparation ahead of the weekly Investment Committee meeting and assist with pipeline monitoring activities.
- Support the design and implementation of process improvement initiatives to drive scalable analysis and insight across the team and Firm.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required based on relevant experience) with 1-3 years of working experience.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow, with the ability to interpret financial data and management information.
- Self-motivated with a desire to take ownership of personal growth and career development.
- Effective project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings clearly and concisely. Experience working with multiple stakeholders, effective verbal and written communication skills, and ability to synthesize information.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and clarity in reports and presentations. Self-motivated; has a “can-do” attitude and demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Proven record of academic excellence.
- Experience or exposure to automation or data visualization tools during undergrad.
- Competence in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Prior work experience in the deals / diligence industry is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Glean, or similar platforms) to improve processes, streamline workflows, and enhance overall efficiency.
