Associate Project Engineer
Summary
Assists the project engineering focal with all aspects of the engineering requirements to support the successful completion of Greenpoint programs. Ensures that assigned small-scale projects progress on schedule, within budget and meets or exceeds quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the project engineer with the statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research, ongoing development and new business requirements.
- Works with project engineer and management to obtain SOW approval.
- Assists the project engineer with identifying and managing changes to SOW, assesses the impact of those changes, and incorporates as required.
- Negotiates proposed changes with the project engineer to determine modifications to deliverables, resources, costs and schedules.
- Ensures that assigned small-scale projects progress on schedule within budget and meets or exceeds minimum quality standards.
- Assists the project engineer with identification and creation of project performance metrics. Plans, identifies and coordinates resources for all aspects of the project or program.
- Manages multiple priorities and competing tasks while prioritizing and assigning tasks and assignments.
- Works constructively with other departments and vendors to gain consensus on the best resolution for each program issue.
- Communicates clearly with the engineering team, other departments, and vendors as required to facilitate smooth completion of the engineering package.
- Provides periodic project status to upper management using the latest presentation techniques.
- Delegates responsibility to achieve efficiency.
- Assists in the evaluation of designs, changes, specifications and drawing releases.
- Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.
- Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering or equivalent, minimum four years industry experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work constructively with other departments and vendors to gain consensus on the best plan for each program issue.
- Ability to prepare meeting materials and conduct design reviews as required to keep all parties informed of progress, gain team consensus and progress the engineering package to completion.
- Strong communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to management.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret the complex documents.
- Demonstrates the interest and ability to grow within the project engineering function.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications.
- Displays sound judgment, problem-solving skills and ability to function independently to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.
The expected WA salary range for this position is between $68,000.00 - $93,000.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
