Role Overview
ID.me is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Developer Portal Application Team, a key team in delivering world-class B2B and developer experiences. This team owns the end-to-end experience for developers and business partners integrating with the ID.me platform, spanning partner onboarding, policy and access configuration, developer tooling, and analytics. As the Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for guiding a talented team of full-stack and UI engineers, partnering with Product, Design, and the Product Platform teams to shape the future of ID.me’s integration ecosystem.
This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering leader with a strong product mindset, experience managing complex frontend/backend systems, and a passion for building platforms that delight developers and scale integration velocity.
This role located in our Mountain View, CA office, 5 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the Developer Portal Application engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, execution, and collaboration.
- Own the execution and delivery of product roadmaps for developer onboarding, integration configuration, billing, analytics, and policy management experiences.
- Partner closely with the Product Platform teams to integrate shared capabilities (e.g., org management, credentialing, access controls) into an intuitive, streamlined user experience.
- Ensure product experiences are secure, reliable, and compliant, while also flexible enough to support partner diversity.
- Guide the team through architectural modernization, unifying legacy UIs and services into scalable, componentized applications.
- Champion accessibility, performance, observability, and long-term sustainability in front-end and full-stack application development.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, UX, Identity, Compliance, and GTM stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- 5+ years in an engineering management capacity.
- 5+ years of shipping production-grade B2B or developer-facing applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building or managing external developer portals or B2B onboarding platforms.
- Experience working with developer-facing products, such as APIs, SDKs, or API gateways.
- Strong product sense with an ability to balance UX quality, tech debt, and delivery velocity.
- Experience leading frontend and full-stack teams in high-growth, agile environments.
- Deep understanding of modern UI architecture and frontend technologies (React, Web Components, SSR strategies, accessibility standards).
- Familiarity with back-end services, API integration, and data modeling.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and team leadership skills.
- Experience operating in regulated environments (e.g., security, compliance, or data privacy requirements).
- Familiarity with A/B testing, experimentation, and analytics in enterprise or developer tools.
- Prior experience navigating architecture modernization or UI unification initiatives.

The annual base salary listed does not include a company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity and benefits which will be determined based on experience, skills, education, relevant training, geographic location and role.

Mountain View, CA Pay Range
$235,000 - $283,516 USD
ID.me is a full-time, in-office culture. Unless a specific job description explicitly states otherwise, all roles are on-site five days per week at one of our offices in McLean, VA; Mountain View, CA; New York City, NY; or Tampa, FL.
