Jensen Hughes is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accounts Payable/Cash Applications Specialist to join our Baltimore team (Office will be moving to Columbia, MD in early 2025). This role will be hybrid, 4 days remote, and 1 day in office.
Reporting to the AP/Cash Apps Manager, this position will be critical in maintaining financial accuracy and ensuring compliance with our company's policies and procedures. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and encourage all qualified candidates to apply.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Accurately enter invoices using the workflow tool (Medius) and accounting software (Deltek Costpoint).
- Ensure proper coding of invoices in alignment with the financial reporting structure.
- Acquire necessary approvals for all invoice transactions.
- Assist with preparing and processing payments via check, ACH, and wire transfer.
- Maintain and update vendor records with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Effectively communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve issues and provide support as needed.
- Accurately record intercompany transactions across various Jensen Hughes subsidiary entities.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and research involving invoices and payments.
Cash Applications:
- Accurately record customer payments in accounting software (Deltek Costpoint).
- Ensure accurate recording of various accounts receivable transactions in alignment with the financial reporting structure.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and research involving customer payments.
- Resolve any discrepancies related to customer payments and vendor invoices.
- Document and update procedures for cash application and accounts payable processes to ensure compliance, consistency, and efficiency.
General:
- Work with multiple currencies on a daily basis.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders and external suppliers in a timely, clear, and respectful manner.
- Drive timely month-end close processing.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a related role.
- High school diploma required; a college degree is a plus.
- Experience in processing multi-currency invoices is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to code invoices to a complex, multi-segment GL accounting string, including project-based invoices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and thrive in a team environment.

National Pay Range
$30 - $33 USD
