Job Mandate 

We’re looking for a Director – Business Analytics to help inform the next phase of growth for Kensington Tours. Reporting to the VP – Strategy, you will be responsible for transforming the data landscape at Kensington Tours to enable value added insights that drive better business decisions. 

The ideal candidate combines outstanding business acumen, communication skills, and curiosity about what makes the organization tick. You will use business tools like Excel, Powerpoint, PowerBI, and SQL to guide business leaders in critical decision-making. You will collaborate and influence senior leadership and have a passion for using data to uncover new opportunities for the team to act upon and drive increased profitability. 

Responsibilities 

  • Create visually appealing and intuitive dashboards, reports and presentations to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Manage month end results reporting process and work cross functionally with business leaders to effectively communicate results, initiatives and relevant risks/opportunities. 
  • Review reports, mine data, and share trends and insights with business leaders. 
  • Support strategic initiatives through internal and external data analysis and the presentation of conclusions. 
  • Manipulate and analyze large datasets using SQL 
  • Develop and improve tracking and post-mortem reporting to understand performance across client company strategies including sales, product, marketing, and operations. 
  • Collaborate with business leaders in developing metrics and benchmarks (i.e., KPIs) to measure key functions and initiatives by using data and technology. 
  • Develop deep understanding of travel industry and internal business to determine how to present information for various stakeholder groups and senior leadership team. 
  • Drive automation opportunities for data collection and reporting. 
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics. 
  • Proactively explore and suggest innovative ways to leverage data for business growth and improvement.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Business Degree in Operations, Economics, Statistics, Strategy, Mathematics, or a related field. 
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor in addition to lead and motivate cross functional stakeholders 
  • Highly advanced level Excel, PowerPoint, and BI skills. 
  • Solid understanding of database systems and SQL. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • 10+ years of progressive work experience bridging the gap between technology and business to inform strategy. 
  • Ability to create and present to all levels of the organization including to the Executive Leadership team. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Naturally curious with a strong determination to work around obstacles. 
  • Able to effectively manage ambiguity and change while working on cross-functional projects and initiatives. 
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and ownership mentality (no task is too small) with strong judgment, attention to detail, and an analytical mind. 
  • Effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
