The KnowBe4 Studios Technologist Manager ensures the effective and efficient management of the KnowBe4 Studios Technology team, while serving as a global functional lead for content standards. This role provides technical guidance and documentation while working with publishing team leads, to embedded technologists and direct reports across the globe to ensure technical consistency.

Our highly collaborative teams rapidly release courseware in an environment where innovation is applauded and minimizing distractions from real work is top priority. This position may require occasional travel and flexibility in working hours to meet project demands. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and provide technical direction and coaching to direct team members, while providing functional guidance to global technologists (in cooperation with publish team leaders) to ensure growth in HTML/CSS, authoring tools, and accessibility standards. Ensure efficiency and technical stability across various international LMS platforms.
  • Coordinate team assignments to ensure balanced workloads and adequate coverage for incoming tickets and course build sprints.
  • Track and report on Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for both content production deadlines and customer support resolution times.
  • Review team responses and course builds for technical accuracy, professionalism, and adherence to established quality controls.
  • Regularly review and update process documentation, ensuring these standards are disseminated to and adopted by embedded technologists in other teams globally.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with core leadership to highlight team achievements, volume trends, and resource needs.
  • Monitor communication channels and support queues to identify emerging technology shifts or recurring customer pain points and provide data-driven feedback to the KnowBe4 Studios; Product and Engineering teams to prevent future tickets.
  • Act as a technical consultant for distributed teams when handling complex customer call escalations and high-priority inquiries and bridge the communication gap between technical developers and non-technical internal/external stakeholders.
  • Take an active role in creating and supporting content that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive as outlined in the KnowBe4 DEI statement .
  • Ensure content is Web Content Accessible Guidelines (WCAG 2.2 AA) compliant so that our content is accessible to all users
  • Possess the ability and experience to effectively utilize the required technology tools: Gmail and Google Docs; MS Office (Word and Excel) and web browsers (Chrome, Edge/Firefox etc.).
  • Provide genuine recommendations as to the hiring, firing, promotion, and discipline of subordinate employees to which the Company gives significant weight

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, OR equivalent relevant professional work experience
  • 5-8 years relevant experience working with eLearning content development.
  • The ability to lead and align distributed teams and publishing leads through expertise, collaboration, and shared technical roadmaps.
  • Proficiency in creating clear, scalable documentation meant for a global audience with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Advanced-level command of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript specifically for web-based learning.
  • Deep knowledge of SCORM protocols to ensure content communicates perfectly with various LMS platforms.
  • Mastery of accessibility guidelines and experience using screen readers (like JAWS or NVDA) for testing.
  • The ability to provide constructive, technical feedback that elevates the team’s output quality.
  • The ability to interpret support ticket trends and SLA data to make informed staffing or process decisions.
  • Competency in managing high-volume content output using project management tools.
  • A methodical approach to Root Cause Analysis for browser-specific or environment-specific failures.
