The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.
LA28, the organizers for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, is on a mission to create an unparalleled Games experience for athletes, fans, partners, our community and our people. The 2028 Olympics and Paralympics will represent LA and leverage the strength of our community’s diversity and creativity as we collectively work to design a Games that we all want to be a part of. We do this by focusing on people and by inviting everyone into the story of the LA28 Games.
The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Associate, Cultural Olympiad:
The Cultural Olympiad is a key historic component of the Olympic and Paralympic experience, designed to celebrate creativity, diversity, and artistic expression alongside world-class athletic competition. It showcases ”fine arts” in all disciplines, as well as food, film, craft, fashion, and design. Its goal is to foster a global cultural dialogue that connects communities and enhances the Games’ legacy.
The Associate, Cultural Olympiad will support the execution of LA28’s Cultural Olympiad pro-gram, working closely with the Executive Director and Chair to coordinate key activities, stakeholder engagement, and operational support. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for arts, culture, and community impact.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment. They will have experience in cultural programming, event coordination, arts administration, or community engagement, along with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational & Administrative Support
- Maintain task lists, meeting notes, and follow-up actions for the Cultural Olympiad team.
- Assist with budget tracking and financial documentation related to cultural programming.
- Handle correspondence, scheduling, and logistical planning for high-level cultural engagements.
- Support the Executive Director and leadership team with calendar management, travel logistics, and expenses.
Stakeholder & Partner Engagement
- Support engagement with artists, cultural institutions, government agencies, and community organizations.
- Track and maintain databases of cultural partners, funding sources, and stakeholder interactions.
- Assist in researching and analyzing cultural trends, community needs, and partnership opportunities.
Program & Event Coordination
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing Cultural Olympiad events and activations.
- Develop and maintain agendas, presentations, and materials for meetings and public forums.
- Track program deliverables, timelines, and key milestones to ensure successful execution.
Project & Communications Support
- Draft reports, briefings, and communications for internal leadership and external partners.
- Support the creation of marketing and promotional materials related to Cultural Olympiad initiatives.
- Monitor and track cultural policy developments that may impact the LA28 Cultural Olympiad.
Background & Qualifications:
Position Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in cultural programming, event coordination, arts administration, community engagement, or a related field.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with experience drafting reports, briefings, or stakeholder communications.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and organizations to execute cultural initiatives.
- Passion for the role of arts and culture in shaping legacy, inclusion, and community engagement.
- Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB).
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Experience working with cultural institutions, arts councils, or city/state arts initiatives.
- Familiarity with public arts funding, sponsorships, or philanthropic grants.
- Knowledge of event logistics, venue coordination, or artist relations.
- Understanding of Los Angeles' cultural landscape and its role in the 2028 Games.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to work onsite in Los Angeles, with potential evening/weekend events.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Expectations:
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-profile environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving and adaptability to evolving program needs.

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000-$75.000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
