The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Associate, Physical Security:

Protecting the people and office spaces of LA28 is a critically important role in ensuring the safety and success of the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games, its Stakeholders and Partners. 

 The LA28 Safety & Security team is seeking a dedicated and professional Physical Security Associate to support operations related to office-based access control, visitor management, surveillance video systems, and safety-related training/awareness for employees, guests and others. 

 As a front face for the Safety & Security team, the right person for this role will be both detail-oriented and approachable—helping to ensure the safety and comfort of all individuals on LA28 premises.  This individual should embody positivity, teamwork, and have the ability to stay calm under pressure while handling situations with professionalism and discretion. 

 Excellent communication skills are a must, in addition to a commitment to upholding LA28’s standards of safety, security, and hospitality.  This role will collaborate closely with several other Functional Areas within LA28 as well as with building management and contract security. 

 This role will report directly to the Senior Director, Physical Security, Risk, and Business Management. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Access Control / Badging Operations: Provide timely support for new and current employees with issuance of access control badges, record keeping and interface with building management/building security on access control. 

• Visitor Management support:  Manage electronic/web-based visitor management systems, ensuring proper processes are implemented by employees and Reception desk staff for pre-registering guests; and ensuring guest check-in and temporary access measures are granted according to security protocols. 

• Employee & Guest Assistance: Assist employees and guests with inquiries, access control needs, and wayfinding.  Address any complaints or issues professionally and promptly. 

• Communication: Maintain effective communication with employees, guests, employee hosts, security officers, and other operations leadership to ensure a seamless experience. 

• Security Awareness & Reporting: Actively monitor key areas for any security issues.  Observe and report suspicious behavior or persons.  Escalate urgent issues to security officers or global security leadership for action, ensuring the safety of guests and staff.  Help raise awareness and reinforce safety & security policies and protocols. 

• Emergency Response: Remain calm and alert during emergencies. Work with lobby-based security officers and LA28 Safety & Security leadership in following established protocols to ensure guest and employee safety. 

Background & Requirements:

• This position is ideal for proactive, friendly, and safety-minded individuals who are enthusiastic about providing exceptional service for employees and guests. 

• Ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and composure. 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-oriented approach. 

• Strong attention to detail. 

• Experience with Microsoft Office tools. 

• Experience with access control systems, video management systems, and web-based visitor management systems a plus. 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to work on-site in an office environment, based in Los Angeles, CA. 

• Ability to move about the office and to/from the lobby and different office floors throughout the day. 

• Ability to remain alert, engaged, situationally aware and with a sharp eye for details for long periods. 

• Willingness to work afterhours, including evenings and weekends, on a situational basis if/when needs arise. 

• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 

Education / Training / Certifications:

• High school diploma required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Additional qualifications in security, safety, customer or employee-facing service roles are a plus. 

• Certifications in relevant security systems a plus. 

 

 

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $75,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
