Manager, Accommodation Contracting & Operations

The Manager, Accommodation Contracting & Operations reports directly to the Senior Manager, Operations, Systems & Finance within the Accommodations functional area. This role will lead hotel and alternative accommodation contracting, oversee operational delivery for assigned locations, and provide broader operational support across the pillar as required. 

Primary responsibilities include securing and managing accommodation inventory for the Olympic Football Tournament host cities (multi-city), Oklahoma City accommodations, and designated satellite villages. This position will also contribute to other operational priorities within the Operations, Systems & Finance pillar, assisting the Senior Manager in areas such as process improvement, budget oversight, reporting, readiness exercises, and cross-functional coordination. 

The role requires advanced contracting skills, multi-city event operations experience, and the ability to integrate accommodation services with transport, accreditation, workforce, security, and venue planning to ensure a unified Games-time service experience. 

Key Responsibilities:

Contracting & Supplier Management 

  • Source, negotiate, and finalize contracts with hotels, dormitories, and other accommodation providers to meet demand forecasts. 
  • Secure room blocks, negotiate favorable cancellation policies, and ensure rate protection. 
  • Manage supplier relationships from contract execution through Games-time delivery, including service-level monitoring and compliance. 
  • Work with Legal and Finance to ensure contracts meet organizational standards and budget constraints. 

Operational Planning & Delivery 

  • Develop detailed operational plans for all assigned locations, ensuring alignment with overall accommodations strategy and Games-time service levels. 
  • Coordinate with functional areas (Transport, Accreditation, Security, Venue Management) to integrate accommodation operations into the broader event delivery plan. 
  • Lead readiness planning, including test events, site visits, and scenario-based contingency exercises. 
  • Manage Games-time accommodation hubs and onsite teams, ensuring rapid issue resolution and guest satisfaction. 

Cross-Functional Coordination 

  • Act as the primary liaison between accommodation providers and internal operational teams. 
  • Provide timely updates to leadership on contracting progress, operational risks, and readiness status. 
  • Support stakeholder needs, including athletes, team officials, technical staff, workforce, media, and dignitaries. 

Financial & Reporting 

  • Monitor budgets, forecasts, and expenditure to ensure adherence to financial targets. 
  • Maintain accurate records of contract commitments, usage, and post-Games settlement requirements. 
  • Prepare operational readiness reports, post-event evaluations, and recommendations for future major events. 

Background & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in hotel contracting and negotiations for large-scale, multi-city events. 
  • Demonstrated experience in event accommodation operations, preferably in sports or entertainment. 
  • Strong knowledge of the US accommodations market, with an ability to assess venue-city accommodation capacities and capabilities. 
  • Proven track record of multi-stakeholder coordination under tight timelines. 
  • Experience managing onsite delivery in high-pressure environments. 

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to work on-site in an open office environment based in Los Angeles, CA.  
  • Availability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, during peak operational periods. 
  • Ability to perform effectively in dynamic, high-volume, and complex operating environments.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically or internationally as needed.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, event management, sports management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. 

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Background in Olympic, FIFA, or other global sporting event accommodation delivery. 
  • Established network of hotel and accommodation partners in key US markets. 
  • Multi-lingual skills, with preference for languages commonly used in Olympic environments.

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000 - $115,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
