Sales Compensation Lead

We're looking for a Sales Compensation Lead to take ownership of our commissions processes, ensure timely execution, and support the development of our growing team.
Reporting to the Finance Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in leading and executing our commissions operations. This includes directly supervising our Commissions Analyst, collaborating on workload execution, strategizing on incentives structures and continuously improving our processes. You will be responsible for ensuring data integrity, becoming a subject matter expert in CaptivateIQ, and building scalable and efficient practices to support future team growth.
What you’ll do:
- Execution & Oversight: Take ownership of the commission's workload and collaborate with the Commissions Analyst to ensure that all tasks and deliverables are completed accurately and on-time.
- Team Leadership: Lead the other members of the Commissions Team; Provide guidance, thoroughly review their work and assist in supporting their development.
- Review & Approvals: Lead final review and sign-off on commissions calculations, ensuring data integrity and alignment with compensation plans.
- Data Ownership: Take ownership of attainment tracking for all Sales teams across different systems.
- Change Management: Lead process or system transitions smoothly, including ad-hoc changes to compensation plans.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices for scalable, efficient commissions processes.
- CaptivateIQ Expertise: Serve as the in-house expert for CaptivateIQ, leading adoption, configuration, and ongoing optimization of the tool.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Revenue Operations to ensure compensation plans are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Scalability Planning: Assist the Finance Operations Manager with scalability planning.
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other quantitative field.
- 4+ years of experience in sales compensation at a high-growth SaaS company.
- Strong proficiency in commissions processes and compensation plan execution.
- Familiarity with incentive compensation design or experience working with Sales and RevOps teams on plan structures.
- Hands-on experience with CaptivateIQ or similar commissions software.
- Experience with Salesforce.
- Proven ability to manage complex workflows, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency (e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables, macros)
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to collaborate across time zones.
Bonus skills:
- SQL knowledge for querying compensation data from internal systems.
- Experience with Alteryx, Databricks, or Tableau.
- Experience leading and mentoring team members.
