About the Team

Our Sales team guides prospects and existing customers through the full sales cycle, helping them effectively utilize Mixpanel to analyze, measure, and enhance their customer experience.

About the Role

The Country Lead will join our APAC Sales teams and play a pivotal role in expanding Mixpanel's presence in Japan, where we have a significant customer base and increasing demand. You will be the first person on the ground in Japan, which is a crucial step in strengthening our commitment to customers and partners in the region and taking our growth to the next level. 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for growing our business within the region. Your core responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing relationships with current customers to expand existing business.
  • Collaborating with current partners, including resellers, to drive demand for our products.
  • Identifying and establishing partnerships with new resellers to build business with Mixpanel.
  • Contributing to the development of our marketing and messaging strategy for the region.
  • Prospecting, progressing, and closing new business in the region.
  • Forecasting the business in Japan

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

  • You are a builder and derive satisfaction from creating and developing. You may have experience running your own business and are now seeking to apply your entrepreneurial skills within a larger organization that can provide support and resources.
  • You understand what is required to develop a market, sell a product, deliver successfully, and build a supportive ecosystem.
  • You have a passion for Analytics and the value it can deliver.
  • You are well-connected within the Japan business/start-up community - ideally with a background in Analytics or SaaS solutions.
  • You are comfortable giving presentations and product demos and will enjoy building your personal brand and actively contributing to the local community as an evangelist for Mixpanel.
  • You are a credible, energetic leader who is eager to build the Mixpanel business in Japan, with support from the larger Mixpanel global organization.
  • You are comfortable with carrying a quota and have prior direct sales experience.

Organizational Support Structure

  • To achieve your goals, you will collaborate with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Services, Marketing, and Inside Sales.
  • All the above support will initially be provided remotely, so it will be essential for you to build a local delivery support structure through the partner ecosystem.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

  • 10+ years of experience, including at least 5 years in direct enterprise sales with a strong track record of closing new business.
  • Proven expertise in prospecting, executive mapping, and winning new logos in Japan.
  • Experience managing and exceeding large enterprise accounts
  • Strong background in Product Management, Analytics, or SaaS.
  • Deep understanding of the Japanese market and business culture.
  • Ability to develop and execute multichannel sales strategies.
  • Experience in both account management and new business sales.
  • Technically adept, with the ability to deliver product demos to partners and customers.
  • Comfortable engaging with C-level executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Consistent success in closing six-figure deals.
  • Skilled in building and executing account, territory, and go-to-market strategies for a SaaS business in Japan.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding key performance indicators and sales quotas in complex customer environments.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
  • Ability to work remotely and effectively collaborate with a global team.
