About the Role:
The Director of Ad Strategy & Operations is a hybrid leadership role that combines technical media expertise, client-facing strategy, and operational oversight. This person will oversee both Ads Account Management and Ad Operations, managing the execution and optimization of both auction-based and reserve media across MrBeast’s ecosystem—including YouTube, social platforms, and owned-and-operated channels.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and delivering full-funnel media solutions that integrate seamlessly with branded content, creative, and production. You’ll partner cross-functionally with sales, partner solutions, measurement, and platform teams to ensure flawless execution and drive performance for the world’s leading brands.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Media Leadership
- Lead the development of integrated media strategies across auction and reserve, aligning with brand objectives, funnel stage, and campaign KPIs.
- Partner with Sales and Partner Solutions teams to build full-funnel paid media solutions that complement branded content and IP activations.
- Serve as the internal expert on platform capabilities (YouTube, TikTok, Meta, programmatic), guiding how to best leverage each channel within a broader media plan.
- Stay ahead of media innovation, data privacy, and platform changes to advise brands on how Beast integrates with their broader marketing mix.
Team Management
- Lead and mentor a growing team of Ads Account Managers and Ad Operations Specialists, overseeing trafficking, pacing, optimization, and client delivery.
- Establish best-in-class workflows, QA processes, escalation protocols, and performance reviews to ensure smooth, consistent execution at scale.
Execution & Platform Expertise
- Oversee trafficking, tagging, and delivery using Google Ad Manager (GAM), DV360, TikTok Ads, and other paid platforms.
- Collaborate with creative and production teams to align timelines, specs, and formats for media delivery.
- Ensure all media campaigns are optimized for viewability, completion, lift, and other client-defined metrics.
Measurement & Data Integration
- Lead implementation of measurement strategies, including Brand Lift, MMM integrations, and third-party platforms (e.g., VideoAmp, Rockerbox, Google Brand Lift).
- Partner with data/engineering teams to integrate tracking pixels, conversion events, and audience targeting strategies.
- Guide brands on how to integrate Beast media with their own data stacks and measurement frameworks.
What You’ll Bring:
- 10+ years in media strategy, digital ad operations, or performance marketing—ideally at a publisher, platform, or advanced creative media company.
- Deep technical expertise in GAM, DV360, YouTube Ads, and ideally TikTok/Meta ad platforms.
- Proven experience leading teams across media planning, account management, and ad operations.
- Strong client-facing skills—comfortable translating technical requirements into business solutions and managing media expectations.
- Ability to partner cross-functionally with creative, sales, and production teams to deliver cohesive, high-performing campaigns.
- Familiarity with full-funnel measurement tools and integrations (e.g., brand lift, attribution modeling, pixel tracking).
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with high expectations and a collaborative mindset.
