Role

As part of our expanding commercial operations team, Octus is hiring a Commercial Revenue and Analysis Director in our New York office. This is a great opportunity to join a successful commercial team and make a direct global impact. The person in this role will be responsible for analyzing the performance of Octus’s commercial functions, including new business sales, account management, customer success, and customer support. This role plays a pivotal part in driving data-driven decision-making, identifying growth opportunities, and driving profitability. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with commercial acumen to deliver insights and strategies that improve team performance and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Performance Analysis: Analyze and evaluate key performance metrics (KPIs) across new business sales, account management, customer success, customer support functions, and marketing. Drive data proficiency throughout the organization through the creation of standardized metrics, intuitive dashboards, and actionable business insights. Conduct profitability and trend analysis for accounts, regions, and industries/segments to identify whitespace (e.g. new products into existing accounts/new divisions), areas of upsell growth (e.g. increased pricing based on value-based selling approach), or account penetration (e.g. existing packages into new divisions within existing clients).

New Business Acquisition: Work with key stakeholders in the commercial leadership team and marketing to build our prospect database of clients and contacts to target. Provide detailed analytics on the performance and penetration of this prospect database and generate insights that improve the performance of new client acquisition over time.

Data-Driven Strategy: Collaborate with commercial leaders to define performance benchmarks and identify data-driven strategies to meet revenue growth and retention goals. Build predictive models and forecasts to anticipate business performance and recommend strategies to achieve targets and/or improve performance. Identify key customer segments and develop insights to tailor strategies for acquisition, retention, and cross-selling. Design and manage the structure of sales territories to optimize market coverage and productivity.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to the GTM leadership team by providing data-backed recommendations to improve performance and management rigor. Partner with finance, marketing, and operations teams to ensure alignment on goals, reporting, analysis, and performance tracking. Communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership and implement follow-up action plans and measure the outcomes systematically.

Operational Efficiency: Assess and improve current tools, processes, and systems for tracking full funnel analytics from lead to close to renew, including the impact from marketing programs and leads. Lead initiatives to automate reporting and streamline access to real-time performance data. Ensure data accuracy and integrity by collaborating with the data and marketing teams and ensuring robust governance. Ensure that marketing revenue contributions are tracked accurately and that strategic adjustments can be made in real-time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, data analytics, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
  • 7+ years of experience in a commercial analytics, business intelligence, or strategy role.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Sigma, Tableau) and Salesforce.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with data manipulation languages such as SQL or Python.
  • Experience working with a Marketing team, analyzing data to understand the attribution of marketing programs on revenue.
  • Proven track record of delivering insights that drive revenue growth and operational improvement.

At Octus, we consider a range of factors in connection with compensation decisions, including experience, skills, location, and our business needs and limitations. As a result, compensation may vary within and across similar roles and positions. Please note that the salary range information below is a good faith estimate for this position and actual compensation for any individual may fall outside this range if warranted by the circumstances applicable to that individual. If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed below may reflect that breadth.

The base salary range estimate for this position is $160,000 - $180,000.

The actual compensation will be at Octus’ sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
