About Ogilvy:

Ogilvy UK has been creating iconic ideas that deliver impact at scale for clients ever since David Ogilvy founded the company in 1948. Ogilvy UK specialises in bringing together brand advertising, customer experience marketing, PR, influence and consulting, all fuelled by Behavioural Science. Our world-class award-winning creative campaigns deliver solutions for clients including Molson Coors (owner of Madrí beer), Valeo Foods UK (owner of Kettle Chips and Rowse Honey), Argos, Mondelēz International, Unilever, TK Maxx and Pernod Ricard.

In 2023, Ogilvy UK celebrated their 75th anniversary and was the most awarded agency in Europe. Ogilvy is home to the largest influencer marketing practice globally, and hosts the world’s biggest festival of behavioural science and creativity, Nudgestock – now in its 12th year.

The Role:

Ogilvy UK has worked with Viasat, and prior to its acquisition Inmarsat, one of the world’s leading satellite communications businesses, for over 8 years. It’s a global relationship, managed out of London, with clients based all over the world. We work with Viasat’s corporate and brand teams, as well as its individual business units serving the aviation, maritime, government, energy and enterprise IoT sectors.

What does that mean in practice? Inflight wi-fi, safety at sea, flying taxis, business jets, fishing fleets, oil rigs, encryption, air traffic control, direct-to-device, connected farms, rockets, satellites, laser links and ground stations.

We work on brand and service positioning projects, content, PR, corporate relations, advertising, events, social, digital, partnerships with other major technology players, just about everything. We produce global campaigns, sales assets, thought leadership and help define the business’ positioning in areas like sustainability and digital inclusion.

Strategy is at the heart of our relationship. Viasat choose to work with the agency because we understand their business and their audiences. We’re looking for an experienced Strategy Director who’s been around the block to join a team of strategists to deliver excellence on the account and be the driving force behind work that works.

You’ll have a love of technology and be constantly motivated by what’s next. You’ll be fascinated by business-level challenges and comfortable leading the conversation with very senior client stakeholders and subject matter experts across the client organisation.

You’ll act as a partner to the Client Partner, helping them to build and diversify the account relationship and grow its value.

You’ll work at Ogilvy UK and sit in the heart of a welcoming, feisty, and fun planning community in London’s Sea Containers House.

Skills We Are Looking For

  • Strategic leadership across both Brand and Experience campaigns for high profile international B2B accounts. B2B as a specialism, but a wider frame of reference.
  • Very strong integrated strategic thinker – whose centre of gravity isn’t restricted to one discipline, and who feels comfortable straddling business and commercial consultancy.
  • Experience working closely with senior, often C-Suite level clients.
  • Experience leading a team of strategic thinkers from Brand, Experience, Communications and Data backgrounds.
  • Storytelling expertise – able to develop and articulate clear brand and product narratives and messaging, translating complexity.
  • Capable of engaging with clients across every aspect of the demand journey.
  • Nurturing and patient, but clear and demanding. You’ll be the kind of person who wants to get the best and gives clear direction and feedback to achieve it.
  • Exude charisma and dynamism, both in presenting, winning client confidence and through being a connector within the agency and network
  • Data literate and able to understand client’s business results and issues, as well as being well practiced in leading an effectiveness culture and building new models.
  • Experience in the technology and/or connectivity space an advantage.

How we help you Thrive:

  •  25 days annual leave + 1 Volunteer Day
  • Bupa Healthcare
  • Enhanced Maternity, Adoption and Shared Parental Leave
