Summary

The DevOps Squad is responsible for developing and managing the tooling used by our squads to release changes in our fast moving environment. They manage the various tools such as source code repositories, CICD pipelines, and related tooling used by engineers throughout Pismo. The DevOps squad is also responsible for developing standards and guidance on how to release changes safely without impacting customers

What you'll do

  • Be responsible for managing and monitoring the CICD pipelines that are created and executed by Pismo engineering squads.
  • Developing the tooling and patterns used by those engineers to release database, infrastructure, and application changes into production on a daily basis.
  • Contribute to developing the next generation of CICD processes and tooling for Pismo
  • Work with engineering teams to adopt the next generation processes and refactor their pipelines
  • Participate in activities to improve the reliability of change management within Pismo
  • Promote a culture of release early, release often while maintaining 5 9s of availability.

Minimum Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • 8+ years experience as a Site Reliability Engineer
  • Have familiarity with the use of integrated development environments such as Eclipse, IdeaJ, VS Code, or similar
  • Used and developed software professionally using languages such as Python, Golang, Java, or Javascript
  • Experience using tools to implement pipelines which perform continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous deployment of software into production environments
  • Familiar with and has experiencing using different git flows and the concepts of GitOps and Monorepos
  • Experience designing distributed systems, with a working understanding of concepts like enterprise integration patterns, REST, and can identify the benefits and drawbacks of any potential solution

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience using the tools and technologies associated with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF).
  • The candidate should be familiar with using tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu for managing cloud services as code using GitHub and the GitOps methodology. 
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CICD) technologies like GitHub Actions, CodeFresh, Env0, and ArgoCD will help the candidate to contribute immediately to efforts at Pismo
  • Experience working with building containers using CICD tools and deploying those containers to Kubernetes clusters using Helm and ArgoCD
