We are looking for an exceptional product manager who will be in the driver’s seat for evolving and innovating the Pure Storage value with virtualization technologies. In this role, you will lead Pure’s continuously growing billion dollar+ virtualization-related business by developing, leading, and overseeing our virtualization-focused product strategy. You will need to think strategically and creatively about how our data platforms can evolve to solve ever-changing business needs which will be critical to our success.

As a business leader, you will measure your success based on the  overall health of the business and our ability to meet/exceed company and market share growth targets while also ensuring your product is delivered on time. 

The successful candidate will have that rare combination of best in class technical skills and business acumen and be a highly effective communicator and collaborator with a demonstrated history of working successfully across all levels of an organization. The right person will be highly curious, analytical and is motivated to always push for higher growth and improved performance - a person who does not settle for “good enough”.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Act as quarterback across Product, Engineering, GTM and finance to develop and drive our virtualization related storage business.
  • Perform deep business analysis to spot trends, uncover opportunities and lead the overall rhythm of the business reporting and operational excellence.
  • Partner with BU leadership and finance to set the business growth related targets and OKRs for your product/service.
  • Drive execution of this strategy to build a high growth business within a multi-billion dollar addressable market including on premises, hybrid and cloud deployments.
  • Assess the competitive and market landscape from both a technical and business perspective and accurately predict trends.
  • You will collaborate with customers, partners, Sales and Marketing to identify, define, and articulate a winning use case centric go-to-market model.
  • Build and know core customer journey metrics to ensure adoption of new products and features that drive customers to renew, buy or add on services.
  • Gather customer feedback to understand key issues, needs and trends in the install base. 
  • Conduct market and technology analysis to get a broader sense of the market and competitive product use.
  • Work closely with the executive team to establish the scope and goals of growth initiatives and provide leadership for the program teams.
  • Engage with key account field sales teams and channel partners to support the sales process and drive the overall customer engagement model.
  • You will be a key participant with a cross functional team focused on technical alignment and business development with key ecosystem partners.
  • You will be a key spokesperson and evangelist for Pure and must be able to deliver compelling presentations to a wide variety of internal and external audiences. 
  • Create and deliver both business and technical presentations to customers, partners, and a wide array of Puritans.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

  • 7+ years Product Management, Technical Marketing, and/or Marketing experience.
  • Experience in VMware, Kubernetes, or core infrastructure technologies.
  • Experience with SQL, Oracle, and SAP HANA (and similar databases) use cases and related customer strategy.
  • Technical expertise with VMware vSphere technologies--with particular focus on block and file-based integrations and features.
  • Understanding and insight into storage technologies and use cases, such as disaster recovery offerings and migration workflows.
  • Expertise on the VMware stack and ecosystem--with particular focus on the cloud-based models such as Azure VMware Solution, VMware Cloud on AWS, and others. 
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery, storage integrations and related use cases.
  • Understanding of VMware configurations and details of NFS, block (NVMe-oF, VAAI, and vVols), as well market adoption and uses of those technologies.
  • High bias for action and execution with strong drive to achieve.
  • Direct experience driving successful field marketing programs is highly desired.
  • Possess a blend of business and technical savvy that includes the ability to build and drive impact with teams across multiple disciplines, especially field teams.
  • Analytical and data-driven.
  • Possesses excellent written/verbal communication; can communicate concisely and persuasively.
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree is required, or equivalent experience. MBA strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to have conceived and executed multiple, extremely complex projects.
  • Must be willing and able to work in an open office, team environment.
  • You will be based in Santa Clara, CA. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 4 days a week. As outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need.

The annual base salary range is: $174,000 – $284,000. 

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
